"It's your lucky day," Tim smirked at me. "You and me, dinner at eight. I'll call you, Babe."
"No way in Hades, you son of a Hydra!" I spat at him. Luckily, mortals sort of adapted our demigod speech.
"You'll regret turning me down, I'm a son of Lord Ares!" He sneered haughtily.
He was not a demigod. All demigods had a short of power to them, and a strong aura. He didn't. Besides, all demigods know of the seven and those who fought in the Second Titan War, and the children of the Big Three. Every demigod knows the name; Annabeth Chase. And Percy Jackson. And Jason and Thalia Grace. And Nico di Angelo. And Leo Valdez. And Luke Castellan. And Piper McLean. And- Well, I've made my point.
"What? You think that's funny? Ares is the strongest god there is!"
"Ares is a baboon." I said. No thunder rumbled in the sky. The gods respected us who have fought for them. Namely Percy and I. I bet my mother was laughing at Ares and agreeing with me at that very moment.
Everyone in the hall turned and stared at me. No one made a sound. They were all scared to face the wrath of a god, and the new girl-me-had just insulted the god of war.
I rolled my eyes. Idiotic mortals.
The bell rang, and yet, no one moved. Or spoke. They just stared at me wide eyes in fear. Everyone made a sort if circle around me, watching, by not too close.
"What in blazes is going on here!" Mr. Smarmy, a short, balding, bad tempered science teacher came, barging into the crowd.
A red head in my English class pointed shakily at me and whispered; "Annabeth just insulted Lord Ares."
Mr. Smarmy's eyes widened, and seemed scared stiff.
"I said it once, I'll say it again. Ares is a baboon." Cue gasp. These mortals are so predictable. "He is annoying, selfish, arrogant, and pigheaded. He doesn't think at all, he isn't a good tactician. And he is so stupid, with his Harley, threatening to turn demigods into rodents. Vlakas."
At the end of my little speech, I smirked smugly, and everyone, even the teachers that had come out to witness my speech seemed too shell shocked to speak.
There was a flash, and suddenly, my mom was in my school. Everyone gasped and got on their knees and bowed.
I didn't. "Hello, mom." I said casually, and enjoyed the incredulous looks my words brought.
"Hello, Annabeth. Good thing I caught you. You are needed on Olympus. Apollo and Aphrodite are having an incredibly annoying argument about where their statues are going to be. Since you are the Official Architect of Olympus, I'd say that requires you to settle it."
"Sure thing. This place is pretty boring, anyway. I know it all."
"That's my girl," Athena said proudly. "And that accursed Sea Spawn boyfriend of your will Vapor Travel you there."
"His name is Percy. And he saved Olympus like a thousand times."
"Yeah, yeah." Athena scowled. "Barnacle Breath..." Then she left, leaving everyone gobsmacked.
"Official...Olympus..." Someone whispered.
"Daughter of Athena..."
"Insulted a god..."
"That was the goddess of wisdom, holy crap..."
"And Tim," I smirked. "I'm a Hero of Olympus, and one of the Seven, and the Official Architect of Olympus. Every demigod knows my name. You are not a demigod, and gods get very angry when upstart mortals try to pose as their children."
I swear to the gods he whimpered.
Then, Percy was there.
More gasps could be heard. And I wasn't surprised. My boyfriend is really hot. And a Seaweed Brain.
"Hi, Wise Girl. Ready to get out of here? Olympus here we come!"
"Why are you taking me? Instead of my mother, I mean?"
"Zeus wants to badger me about me turning down Immortality, again. You know, Uncle Z really does like to hear himself talk. But I feel bad for you. You have to deal with Miss Interesting Lovelives, and Apollo's bad poetry, I don't envy you. I'd almost rather get hit by an arrow than listen to 'There once was a girl from Sparta' one more time! I can't believe he went through that phase again!"
I rolled my eyes. "Let's just go, Seaweed Brain. I think these girls are drooling."
"What?" He looked confused. I sighed. So oblivious. But I still loved him.
"Let's go!"
"Fine, fine." He mumbled. Then he grabbed my hand, and we were gone.
