I watched as the moving truck pulled away and off of my new street. It was one of those really nice, brand new movie style streets. There were about eight houses in the neighborhood total, and it was a bit further from all of the other neighborhoods.

This place was really nice. But there was only one other person living here, and they lived right across the street from me. I wanted to get a new start from what had happened, so I moved away. I was originally from London, England. I packed up everything and moved to Sydney. Surely that was hard, but I didn't have any family left anyways.

I brought some of my boxes upstairs, whichever were marked for the rooms that were upstairs. I had two bathrooms, one upstairs and one down. Downstairs I had a bath, upstairs I had a shower. My kitchen was open, which I absolutely loved. It had an island in the middle though, which was extremely helpful.

I wiped my forehead with the back of my hand, setting up furniture in my bedroom. I figured I should get that done first, as I would need to sleep in it tonight. As soon as I went downstairs to start with the living room, there was a knock on my front door.

I wipe off my face, jogging to the door to see a lanky blonde boy biting his lip ring. He's definitely attractive. Is this my neighbor? Because if so, maybe this move won't be all too bad. His hair is in a grey beanie at the moment.

"Hey neighbor, I'm Luke." he smiles, holding a tupperware out to me. "I made you cookies." I raise an eyebrow as I take the cookies.

"I'm Alexis, come on in." I tell him as he steps inside. This is when I actually pay attention to his height. He's like, seven feet tall. I'm only five foot five. He chuckles as I stare up at him. "So, did you actually bake these cookies?"

"No, I didn't. I can't bake for shit. Are you british?" I nod, eating one if his store bought cookies, which are delicious might I add. "Why'd you move to Australia?"

"It's- it's just a long story." I sigh with a shrug. Luke frowns, knowing that I don't want to talk about it anymore. He fixes his beanie, taking one of the cookies with a grin.

"I was starting to think nobody would ever move into this neighborhood. I moved in a few months ago." I laugh, starting to unpack things in the kitchen while talking to Luke.

"Do you live alone?" I question, taking his wrist and dragging him to the living room with me. "Since you're here you have to help me move furniture." I add, him chuckling with a small nod.

"Yeah, my mates live a bit more in town. Our families live in Sydney."

"Bloody hell!" I yell as I stub my toe, Luke raising an eyebrow.

"You're so british. Are you okay?" I give him a thumbs up as I make sure the coffee table is in the right place.

Luke helps me unpack a lot of my stuff, and we just kind of get to know each other a little bit. We even fight about who's eyes are better, I say his electric blue ones but he says my forest green ones.

I like that Luke and I get along well, and it's a good thing because we're going to be neighbors for, what I'm hoping is going to be a long time. I'm also glad that he's 19 like me, so there's no huge age difference or anything.

"Thanks for helping me unpack Luke. I really appreciate it." I yawn halfway through my sentence, Luke chuckling while I playfully glare.

"It's no problem. Go to bed, I'll be here at 11 to take you out on the town." he winks, waving as he leaves. As I go to lock the door, it swings open again and hits me in the face.

"Goddamn it Luke," I groan, holding my nose.

"Shit. I'm sorry, Lexi." I raise an eyebrow at Luke when he uses the nickname but don't say anything. "I realized I forgot to give you my number." he says sheepishly, rocking on his feet while I get ice for my face.

"You literally live 50 feet away, Luke. I could've gotten your number tomorrow." I laugh, holding the ice pack wrapped with a towel to my face.

He bites his lip, examine my nose. I'm not bleeding, so that's a good sign I guess. He hands me his phone and I type in my brand new Australian number for him, but I out my name in as Lexi because I guess that's what he's going to call me now.

He looks like he feels really bad about hitting me in the face, he won't even look up at me. I out my ice down next to me, walking over to Luke.

"Luke, I'm fine. I'll see you in the morning, okay?" he gives me a small smile, apologizing again before leaving.

As soon as I get upstairs and get changed, I climb right into my bed. It's been a long day, but it's been a good first day in Australia. I unpacked just about everything, and I made a new friend.

Short chapter, but the first chapter so that's cool. I'm very excited about this story. I'm very excited about all of my new stories actually, but you know.

It's only 10:00, so I might update one of my stories again before I go to bed because I normally don't sleep for another few hours.
