Rachel's POV

Yesterday night, Steven was being so weird. I know he loves me and I love him, but sometimes he surprises me when he's so brotherly towards me. I felt so awkward, normally we don't say I love you to each other. Maybe he said that because I started working for Lex. Oh Steven, he's the best older brother I could have asked for. Most of the times we get into the regular brother and sister fights. I really need to find Steven a girlfriend.

I wave hello to the security guard. I can't believe I'll start working for Lex today. Hope it all goes well.

I came to the office, bright and early. I prepared a cute outfit for today since I am going to meet Hunter. I couldn't believe that I even woke up early. I will be strong and independent today because that's how my mother raised me to be. I am wearing a mini grey plaid shirt, a cute ruffle pink blouse, and a plaid grey blazer. I styled my hair in a cute messy bun.

I am really excited for my first day of work. I put on my headphones while waiting for the elevator. It's weird that no one has arrived besides the security guard and a couple of janitors cleaning. I text Hunter for a bit.

I step inside the elevator, and pause my music for a bit. I have to make a quick phone call.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

"H-Hello.."

"Steven, it's time to wake up! I'm already at work."

"Um. Okay, yeah. Good luck at work. Can't wait to see you later." Steven hangs up the phone.

The elevator stops on my floor and I look at my watch. I came fifteen minutes earlier than my expected time. I'm about to switch my song when I hear some furniture moving. That's weird...I thought Lex came late to his office and Stacy isn't even here yet.

I gently put my purse on the floor and turn off my music. I slowly walk to Lex's office. I open the door a bit and peek inside. Oh. My. Gosh. What am i seeing???? Staci and Lex are making out. Staci keeps moving papers to the floor and Lex is a beast. I try to look away, but I can't stop watching them. I'm about to close the door when Lex makes eye contact with me.

Staci turns her head to my direction and glares. I quickly run out of there. Oh my gosh. What did I just witnessed? I feel lightheaded and I want to cry. That stupid jerk! What a playboy! I can't be here. I just can't. My throat feels like its in knots. Why do I feel like this? I shouldn't feel this way. I angrily push the buttons on the elevator. Lex is running after me.

I can't deal with this type of environment. How disgusting. I can hear Lex shouting after me. I turn on music and listen to it louder. The elevator reaches the first floor and I quickly run out of there. I don't look back. Even though Lex is also running after me, I can't deal with this. Do I actually like that jerk? Me? Ugh. As if.

I stumble on the floor and have a hard time breathing.I quickly try to stand up, but I've hurt my ankle. There is no one at the park, and I'm all alone. I carefully stand up and gently walk to the nearest bench. Is this what heartbreak feels like? Is this how it feels to really like someone? Why even bother? Liking someone isn't worth the pain. Hmph!

I look at my knees. Oh no, I've ruined my brand new pair of stockings. That's just great! What more do I need? It's as if God were listening to me because it starts to rain. Really God? Really??? Now I really want to cry. I message Hunter about my current misery.

My phone rings and I pick up.

"Where are you Rach? Are you hurt?" says Hunter

"I'm okay, I just feel emotionally dead. I just need coffee. I-I"

"I was doing my morning run and then it starts raining. I see you right now under that oak tree"

"You what?! Hunter! Really" I say excitedly

"I'll be there in less than a minute. Turn around."

I turn around instantly and notice a tall buff, dirty blonde man walking towards me. His smirk is cute and my heart races. Is that Hunter?

"Hey you. I've missed you." He squeezes me.

"Hunter, you've changed?!"

Really, is that all I can say to him after all these years?

"Yup, I've grown taller than you now. Can you believe it. I actually moved into the apartment complex next to this park. It's so funny that I've ran into you. Oh, you're bleeding." He points to my knees.

"Oh I am?"

"Rach, you should be more careful. Can you walk?" The tone of Hunter sounds sincere.

"I hurt my ankle when I fell. I don't think I can walk."

"Let me give you a piggyback ride." He waits for me to get on him. I feel rather embarrassed that he has to carry me. "Hold on tight Rach."

My cheeks are red. I can't believe that he has gotten so attractive. We are exiting the park when Lex runs past us. He doesn't realize that Hunter has me on his back. Lex shouts my name and I stay quiet.

"Hey Rach, do you know that guy?"

"No Hunter, let's keep going" I say sadly.
