Why did mother have continuously bring up that infuriating woman Amanda Gold!? There was no way I would marry her and she was the last of my concerns.
I skipped out on the dinner yesterday. I received a hundred calls and texts from my mother infuriated with me but I didn't care. I had more important issues to deal with.
Right now all I could think about was the whirlwind of events. I lay in my bed and a few rooms away from me was Rachel. While I felt relieved she was living with me now I was upset how angry she was with me. Didn't she know I was doing this for her?!
6:58 am
I guess I should wake up even though I didn't get much sleep. I was so unnerved that Rachel was so mad at me.
I got out of bed and went to the kitchen. I started to prepare my breakfast constantly peeking at Rachel's door, wondering if she'd even forgive me enough to get out and have breakfast.
I sighed. Since when were women so complicated?
I heard light footsteps and the door opening. I looked up and saw Rachel walking to me dressed in an oversized t-shirt.
"Oh, it's you..." She mumbled as she rubbed her eyes and dragged her feet to the kitchen. She grabbed the pot of coffee from my hands.
"I thought yesterday was a nightmare." She grumbled as she poured herself a cup.
"Really? Not a dream come true?"
"In your dreams." She scoffed.
"You're right, I have dreamt about this." I said seriously. While I had to admit I acted irrationally and the thought of her living with her brother drove me to say what I did, I'm glad I did.
She looked at me angrily and said, "The minute, no, the second I have enough money to live by myself I'm going to!" She pouted.
"You don't need to. Just stay here." I shrugged.
"Are you insane?! If my brother didn't go off the deep end and forced me out of our apartment, I wouldn't be here!" She said frustrated.
"A part of you must have wanted to live with me. Otherwise you wouldn't be here."
"I was right, you are insane." As she sipped her coffee.
"Insane, you say?"
"Yeah, and an ego maniac!"
"Please, do go on."
She smirked, "You're a narcissistic ass hole who uses women left and right! And I hate guys like you!"
"My my my, hate is a strong word Mrs. Steele." I droned.
She rolled her eyes and continued to drink her coffee. I put down my cup and went up to her. She was leaning up against the counter and I put an arm at each side of her and leaned in.
I had her locked in. My mouth close to hers."Now, what can I do to change that?" I whispered. I saw her flustered as she gripped her coffee.
"No-nothing... I'll always hate you." She whispered as she looked away.
"Your body is saying otherwise." I smirked.
"I-" We were cut off by my phone. I angrily answered, "What!?"
Then I heard my mother's voice. She was shouting over the phone, a slew of curse words and profane insults.
I sighed, "Yes mother... I'll meet you there..." I said tensely as I hung up.
"Woah... no wonder you're so screwed up." Rachel commented.
I just scoffed, "I skipped out on a very important dinner yesterday. All because of you. You should take blame for this."
