Lillian POV
I made my way back to where I left Louis, just to find that he'd disappeared.
I shuffled around, and looked for the familiar tuft of dark brown hair, but it was nowhere to be found.
Feeling a soft tap on my shoulder, made me roll my eyes, and turn around, expecting to see those familiar blue orbs. But no. I turned around to see those ugly murky brown eyes, which would only belong to David.
"What, expecting someone else?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
"N-No, of course not." I snapped, and turned to leave.
His hand shot out and seized my wrist stopping me.
I tried to wrangle my hand free. "Let go, David."
"Come on, one dance won't hurt." He urged.
I glared, and tried to free my hand again, which only led to his grip tightening.
"David, stop." I hissed, not wanting to get attention from any of the guests.
"What you just go and dance with another guy and you think I won't notice?" he whispered furiously.
"Me dancing with another guy has got nothing to do with you. We aren't together, we never were together, and if you've forgotten you're married!" I hissed.
Suddenly, a hand was on my wrist, and David was being pushed away from me. And then he was on the floor, on his ass, cursing.
Louis had my wrist in a firm grip, but it wasn't bruising like David's.
David looked up at Louis and growled.
"You tripped me!"
"Really? Are you sure that you didn't just lose your footing?" Louis drawled monotonously.
"Yes, I'm sure you-"
Louis cut him off smoothly, "I'm sorry, but I don't like to associate with scum like you who don't even understand when a woman says 'No'."
"Now you listen here you ass-" David started, as he started to rise to his feet.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to go and dance with my wife."
I would've paid a million bucks to get a picture of David's face on camera.
Sadly, Louis dragged me away before I could get my phone out.
His jaw was clenched again, and his eyes were swirls of ultramarine and cobalt, instead of their normal cerulean blue color.
He was angry.
The question was, at what?
We shuffled silently back and forth to the melody of the song. I shot quick glances towards the couples that surrounded us. Most of them were chatting quietly, or whispering soft words to each other, while Louis and I merely moved about in silence.
This is so awkward!
I frowned, and placed my head on his shoulder.
What should I say?
"So... lovely day we're having," I started.
Louis snorted, and pulled away to where we could now see each other's faces.
"I know your trying to relieve the tension, but that was a bloody awful attempt at it." He said with a smirk.
I pursed my lips and gave him a look. "Well at least I'm trying here!"
