Emily had skipped her last class, rushing to find the aloof dumbass. She found him hanging out by the lockers. She glanced around before rushing up to him. A sense of dread fell in the pit of her stomach.
She slammed her hand next to his head, a frightened look on his face. He jumped, almost dropping his phone in the process.
"Why does everyone think we slept together, Jake?"
Emily didn't hesitate asking, glaring up at the taller boy.
"I don't know, Em. I think this is something that Lexi could've done just to prove a point-''
Emily blinked at the rushed talking, trying to work out just what he was saying.
"Jake, you're telling me that Lexi did this to do what exactly?" Emily cut off Jake's rambling in hopes to actually find a reason for the rumor.
Jake sighed before he spoke,
"She has a tendency to get," He said, pausing to scratch his chin in an awkward manner, "jealous."
Emily gave him a deadpan stare, raising an eyebrow. He just stood there awkwardly, smiling like an idiot. She huffed and removed her arm from where she had trapped him in by the lockers. Crossing her arms, she sighed heavily.
"That's so stupid, why does she care that I am just tutoring you?" Emily asked, mainly towards the empty air of the hallway. Jake didn't know how to respond, so he stayed quiet. That made Emily more angry for some reason.
"At least you slept with me in the rumor, and not some ugly dude." Jake assured, shooting her a nervous grin.
Emily scowled.
"You have to make all of your stupid ass friends and side bitches stop talking mad shit about me before I get really mad."
Jake's eyes went across to look at the tan finger that was pointed in front of him. His green eyes uncrossed and looked at the angry face of Emily, whose honey brown eyes were filled with slight annoyance. He glanced at her up and down, enjoying how she flushed from embarrassment rather than anger.
Jake shook his head at and smirked, his mood doing a full turn around.
Leaning into Emily's space. "What kind of knight would I be if I didn't help out a lady?" he asked.
"Don't call me a lady." She said, pulling her finger back and re-crossing her arms. "It's weird."
"Angel?"
"No."
"Honey Buns?"
"Absolutely not."
"Princess?" Jake spoke, watching the dark flush that covered Emily's cheeks and ear, as she turned away.
"N-no!" She said, walking away, muttering to herself. Jake laughed and Emily turned back around, her eyes widening as she saw Jake doubling over with laughter.
"You like the name princess?" Jake said, in fits of laughter, "That's so cute!" He laughed as Emily went through the seven stages of grief in seven seconds.
"Fuck you, pig!" She said, smacking him lightly on the shoulder. She couldn't help the slight giggles that came out of her mouth as well, even though she was still angry at him.
"Listen," Jake said, laughing sligtly and standing up straight again, "I didn't spread any of those rumors around, I told you it was social suicide to be seen near you or your gang of heathens that you hang out with."
