"So, Kate, to prepare you for the outside world again, I need to ask two questions," A lady dressed in a uniform asked, her pen scribbling away in a small notebook. She was Kate's personal therapist, Mrs. Sanders, that had helped Kate progress steadily on her feet through recovery. Kate felt like she could open up to her, which was beneficial in her case. "What are you afraid of when returning to the outside world?"

"Well, the bullying for one....Seeing the people that...that brought me to this state...I just hope it won't continue, but I think some people are genuinely sorry..." Kate responded, her fists clenched in anxiousness.

"I understand. If you ever want to move schools, we can talk to your parents," Mrs. Sanders responded. "Is there anything you're anticipating for when you go back?"

"Well my sisters and my father, of course....But...I don't want to move schools," Kate shifted her feet nervously, her fists still clenched on her lap. "I have close friends there..."

"Ah, like Max?" Mrs. Sanders asked nonchalantly. They've had many discussions about this girl before.

"Yes...I mean, she was the one that saved me on the roof," Kate commented. "I just can't imagine being without her, especially after all she's done for me."

"So, you would say this Max is an important person in your life?" Mrs. Sanders asked.

"Yes...." Kate Marsh responded, and gave a small nod. "I would say she very much is."

"Well, with that, I think I can let you go for now. I'll be keeping up with you, Kate, we can make monthly visits once your family takes you back home." Mrs. Sanders concluded and tucked her journal into her bag. "Good night, Kate."

Kate nodded and began walking out of the room, where Mrs. Sanders lead her to her room. The two exchanged farewells before Kate closed the door, leaving her to her lonesome. She laid in her bed and grabbed a pillow, hugging it tight to her chest. At the moment, Kate Marsh was flustered because she was in love with Max Caulfield. The girl had saved her from killing herself, and visited her almost every day, it was almost impossible not to fall for someone like that. Someone who was constantly there for her, someone who had looked out for her from the beginning.

Of course, this was not an easy feeling for Kate to accept so easily. Her family was one factor, as any sexuality but anything straight was viewed as an abomination. Also, Max herself was a factor, as she could potentially not requite her affection. The thoughts brought Kate only more stress and confusion that kept her up at night. She sighed, curling up in her bed and drifted off to sleep.

The next day started a bit different than normal. Usually Kate would start doodling, but instead she was expecting a visitor, her mother. Kate couldn't sit still, her mother had never visited except once with the entire family. The two had a rough history, and Kate felt like she didn't even know her own mother sometimes. Kate began yawning, noticing that she couldn't stop and tried to calm herself down from the pit of anxiety in her stomach. With that, the figure that was her mom knocked and entered the room, and Kate felt her hands tremble a bit.

"Kate, have you packed up?" Mrs. Marsh asked.

"Yes m'am, I have." Kate responded timidly, and pointed to a small bag with her drawings, phone and other small things she brought to the hospital. "Are we....leaving right now?"

"No, you will tomorrow. I came here to inform you that. Although, I think you should be staying at this facility longer, your father disagreed, and now I'm picking you up tomorrow" Mrs. Marsh noted. "He also said that staying or leaving at Blackwell Academy will be your decision. I personally think you should leave, but you're an adult now, and adults make their own choices. You're an adult, at this age, even though you don't act like one..."
