"Looks like Viral Slut returns, and now she's slobbering over a girl? Ha, strange..." A girl commented to one of her friends, speaking loudly as if intending for Kate to hear as she walked by.

Kate thought she was done with feeling this depressed, but she was mistaken. Her tears could not be contained, and with trembling hands she entered her room and locked the door to be by herself. Kate felt like a cold, wet puppy as she was shaking all over, her body is some sort of shock. She couldn't believe she kissed Max so abruptly like that, and in front of other people, how could she be such an idiot? Now, it seemed, the bullying was going to continue, and she felt sick at the thought of going to class for the rest of the day.

Suddenly, Kate's phone buzzed, and she tucked it quickly back in her pocket. Paranoid, was the feeling Kate felt, as if only bad things could happen to her. Viewing that message could be a bad thing, and she didn't need to see anymore negativity for the day.

Thud.

Kate jumped from her spot on the floor where she was crying, and froze in fear while staring at the door. She was too scared to answer or talk, and felt helpless in her position.

"Look, Kate, its' me." A voice called from behind the door, it was Chloe Price. "Just to let you know, I had to sneak into the girls dorms before anyone caught me trespassing. Actually scratch that, Principal Wells saw me, soooo if you could open the door before he finds me...that would be useful."

Silently, Kate opened the door, letting the blue-haired punk inside. She wiped the tears from her eyes, trying to choke up her pain."...Chloe? "

"Max sent me, if that explains anything." Chloe commented, and closed the door behind her. "She texted me, which woke me up. Usually I wake at like, uh, two or so, but here I am up at nine in the morning. That's early for me, just so you know..... Anyways, I drove all the way here and made my way to the school, until Principal Bitch-Wells saw me and I had to dash off and into the dorms. So, here I am."

"Wh-what did...what did Max send you here for?" Kate asked, stumbling on her words, nervous to know the answer.

"She wants me to hang out with you, and trust me after that stunt you pulled this morning, I'm totally up for it. You're really the risk taker." Chloe grinned. "You've got guts, for a goody-two shoes."

Kate didn't know how to react to this. Why did Max send Chloe to come hang out with her? It didn't seem to make sense. Still, Kate figured she'd take the compliment. "Thanks...But...I have class, I've never cut class before..."

"I'm not going to enforce a habit of cutting school on you, but one day is not going to hurt. Plus, do you really want to face the shitstorm that is the combination of teenage students and drama? Look, you have a lot on your mind, and I'm giving you a chance to relax a little and avoid all that. You need this. Your mental health comes first." Chloe argued.

Kate pondered on her offer, scratching her head as she was torn between yes and no. She never played hookey before, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to start that. Still, Kate dreadfully feared the things that were teenagers that she would have to deal with if she decided to stay. That was enough to persuade her into agreement. "Alright, fine, I'll go with you."

"Sweet, I have something in mind, it's gonna be hella awesome!" Chloe smirked, grabbing Kate's wrist and dragging her outside. The two crossed the yard and Kate then spotted Principal Wells glaring at them.

"Young ladies, stop right there!" He yelled, and Chloe nudged Kate forward, gesturing for her to run. Both of them dashed off, and guiltiness began to form in Kate's stomach as they hopped into Chloe's truck, where Chloe put her foot on the gas pedal and drove out of the parking lot.
