The phones were destroyed. We made sure they were. First, we sank them in the kitchen sink, and then we smashed the batteries and burned the remains of the phones out back in the firepit. Thankfully, it was a weekday so my brothers and sister were at school, and my mom was at work, so no one was home to question why Emily and I were burning our phones with the world's biggest boyband.

We were currently all sitting on various couches and chairs around the living room, waiting for Shane to return. I was sat between Louis and Niall, and I think this is the most self conscious I have ever felt in my life.

Emily sat on a chair while Liam sat on the arm of it. He probably wanted to be closer to Harry, who was on the other side of Niall, so he sat nearly on Emily instead of taking the other chair. I'm sure Emily didn't mind, though.

"Where's your toilet?" Louis turns his head to look at me while he asks the question.

"Um, just down the hall, first door on the right," I tell him, nodding my head towards the hallway.

"Great, thanks." Louis gets up, and just as he disappears down the hall, my brothers and sister walk through the door.

"Alex!" my youngest brother Max exclaims, running towards me.

"Hey buddy!" I reach my arms out to pick up the rowdy six year old. "Hold still, stop squirming, one of your hearing aids is coming out."

"Hey Alex, Emily, what's up?" my 12 year old brother, Logan, looks up from his phone and sends us a smile. "Wait, you guys look familiar."

"Logan, if you don't know these guys, then you don't pay attention to me and Emily very well," I say, raising my eyebrow.

Logan cocks his head. When Louis comes out of the bathroom, something seems to click in his mind. "Alex.... why is One Direction in our house? Isn't Harry being stalked or something? Everyone at school is talking about it. Oh my God, are we gonna die?"

"Shut up, Logan," Emily mutters.

"How about you go do your homework and I'll explain when mom comes home, okay?" I tell Logan.

Logan huffs but stomps off to his room. I look around the living room for my sister Ella as she hasn't said anything yet. I see the five year old standing in front of Louis, who's crouched down and seems to be concentrating as Ella whispers something in his ear.

"Alex, Ella threw a tantrum today and they had to take me to the kindergarten room to get her to calm down. She wouldn't keep her hearing aids in! I eventually talked her into it though, and then I got to go back to my class. I got a sticker and a pencil for being a good helper!" Max pulls a pencil from his backpack and shows me the sticker under his sweatshirt.

"Good job, Maxie!" I smile at him, placing him on the floor. "Run off and play with your toys now, okay?"

"Okay!" Max runs up the stairs to the playroom, so I'm only left with one more kid to take care of.

"Alex, your sister is absolutely adorable," Louis says, smiling at Ella.

Ella comes running to me, her curly dirty blonde hair bouncing with every step. She climbs into my lap, me checking her hearing aids as she gets settled. "What did you tell Louis?" I ask her.

"It's a secret, I gotta whisper it to you." Ella says, getting on her knees and leaning towards my ear. "I think these guys are aliens, they look just like the boys in the poster in your room."

I laugh, pulling back to look at her. "They are the boys in the poster, Ella."

She gasps. "Oh my gosh!" She jumps climbs off my lap and on to Niall's. She pokes his cheek. "Oh my gosh, how did you get off of the poster! And how did you get bigger?"

Niall laughs. "That's just a picture of us, sweetie."

"Alex has pictures of me and her when I was a baby in her room," Ella informs him. "I think I know what you mean now."

"I bet you were just as cute as you are now," Harry says. "Like a little cupcake."

Ella turns to Harry. "Oh! I know who you are! Emily told me all about you once, she has a lot of pictures of you on her phone. Your name is Harry!"

"Emily has lots of pictures of me, you say?" Harry turns to look at Emily, waggling his eyebrows. She blushes and shrugs.

"How about you go play with Maxie, okay, El?" I ask.

"Can't she stay down here?" Liam asks, sending a quick smile to Ella. "She's adorable."

"Shane will be back soon, we need to get this all figured out," I say. "Ella, go upstairs by Max please."

"Can you put my hair in the braided pigtails first?" Ella asks.

"Oh, I can do that," Niall says. "Give me your hairties."

Seeing all of us giving him a weird look, he quickly says "Harry and I were alone in a hotel room and I was bored."

I slowly nod and look away as Niall gets to work on Ella's hair. Soon, it's finished, and Ella is bouncing up the stairs.

"Your siblings are cool," Louis says, taking his seat next to me again.

"Logan is a pain," Emily informs me. "Trust me, whenever I sleep over he usually won't leave us alone."

"Logan and I actually hated each other for a solid year when he was nine," I say. "It was bad. He told me to kill myself."

"Not to be rude, but what's with the hearing aids? I noticed both Max and Ella wear them," Liam wonders.

"Oh, they were both born with a hearing disorder. They had a therapist until they were three, and then they were put in a special class in the preschool to help them learn to talk better."

"How much do they hear without hearing aids?" Niall asks.

"Well, if you put your hands over your ears, that's roughly what they hear. Everything sounds distorted, that's why they kind of talk funny." I answer.

"I think it's cute," Harry says.

A knock at the door is heard. Glancing around the room, I whisper "Emily, take them to my room in case if it's something bad."

Emily nods and the boys file out of the living room as the person at the door knocks again. "Get Max, Ella, and Logan too," I tell her. "Just in case."

Emily bites her lip and nods. As soon is everyone is up the stairs, I go to the front door and open it. A teenage girl is standing there wearing a hoodie, half of her face in shadows. "Alexandra Smythe, this is for you." A box is thrust into my hands before she turns and walks away.

I frown and lift the lid of the box, seeing a note on top of a pile of small black phones. "Thank you!" I call after her before shutting my door. I set the box on the floor and pull out the note.

Alex -

I hope Shayna got this to you quickly. There was a black vehicle with its windows tinted out following me. I made it look like I was giving Shayna this present, but these are your phones.

I'm currently at my house. Don't come to me. I'll come to you when it's safer.

-Shane

I drop the note to the floor, running up the stairs. I burst through my bedroom door, and everyone's head turns to look at me. "What's wrong?" Emily asks, confused.

"Shane," I say between my heavy breaths. "X found Shane."

Drama and everything is all over the place wow

The Phantom of the Opera is one of my favorite movies. I just find it weird that there is such a large age gap and the Phantom basically tries to kidnap Christine and force her to marry him at the end.

All the love xx
