The world called him the Mafia King. Ruthless. Cold. Untouchable. A man whose very presence could silence a room and make grown men shiver in fear. His words were law, and his name was whispered like a warning.
But to Pete, he was something else entirely.
“Possessiveness is his second name…” Pete muttered under his breath, groaning softly as strong arms tightened around his waist like chains.
They were on the sofa in the penthouse, sunlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Pete had wanted to sit alone, maybe read the morning news, maybe drink his coffee in peace. But Vegas—his husband, the once-terrifying mafia prince who now ruled the empire and somehow make all Pete friend fear him had other plans.
Vegas had crawled onto the couch with him, long legs tangled with Pete’s, face buried into the crook of his neck as if he were starved for his scent. His voice came muffled, vibrating against Pete’s skin.
“Look at me, baby doll.”
Pete sighed, tilting his head back on the cushions. “I’ve been looking at you all morning, you oversized puppy.”
Vegas lifted his head, his sharp eyes.. Those same eyes that made enemies tremble and the main family still get scared softened to something Pete couldn’t quite fight against. A silent plea, childish almost, filled with the need for reassurance. “But you looked at the window just now. Not me.”
Pete groaned again, though his lips twitched. “Do you realize how ridiculous you sound? You’re the boss of the underworld, Vegas. The whole blackcity bows to you. And here you are, sulking because your husband looked at a window.”
Vegas’s lips curved into a smirk, but it wasn’t his usual dangerous smirk. This one was warm, unguarded. He pulled Pete closer until their noses brushed. “Let them bow. Who care about their presence. Who cares about their eyes on me..But you” he paused, pressing a kiss to Pete’s jaw, then his cheek, then finally hovering just above his lips, “you’re the only one I want watching me.”
Pete rolled his eyes, but his heart betrayed him by beating too fast. His arms, once crossed in defiance, loosened and slid around Vegas’s shoulders. “You’re impossible.”
“Mm.” Vegas hummed like a pleased cat, nuzzling against Pete’s chest, his earlier menace dissolving into shameless affection. “ Mine, Mine alone” he whispered lowly, more to himself than anyone else, as though declaring his sacred vow.
Pete chuckled softly, fingers absently running through Vegas’s hair. “You don’t have to say it every time we’re alone, you know.”
Vegas only tightened his hold, purring almost. “I’ll keep saying it until the world understands.”
The ex-head bodyguard, the man who had once been Vegas’s family shield, now found himself being smothered by the same man he used to protect. And yet, as Pete glanced down at Vegas his mafia king, his lunatic, his oversized possessive puppy he couldn’t stop the warmth that bloomed in his chest.
Because even if Vegas’s possessiveness made him groan, Pete secretly loved being the center of his world.

If Pete thought marriage would calm Vegas’s obsessive streak, he was very wrong. Really really wrong..
“Vegas, I’m not five,” Pete deadpanned, tugging his arm free as his husband practically herded him into the sleek black car. “I don’t need to be taken to your office like a kid going to kindergarten. Just because I am alone in the house that's not mean that you will keep an eye on me.. ”
