Ch. 26 Dreaming

Dream...

I heard footsteps coming toward me and it was Mitch. He embraced me. My heart pounded. He smiled and kissed me on the forehead.

I opened my eyes and looked around the room. Mitch was asleep in the chair next to me. I noticed he was wearing the promise ring that he gave me around his neck.

Truth be told, I missed him. I missed that ring too. That's when he woke up.
He sat up in the chair. "Hey how are you feeling?" he asked. "Fine." I said. I sat up in the bed.

He nodded. It was silent for a bit. "Mitch?" I say. He looked over at me.
"Your wearing the ring..." I said. He felt around his neck and took it off slowly. "Does it bug you?" he asked.

I shook my head. He looked down at it rubbing the silver ring. "Why did you keep it all these years?" I asked. He smiled... He said, "I was hoping to find you and I wanted to..." he stopped. "And try and give it back to me..." I finished.

"Yeah......" he sighed. It fell silent once more. "Mitch I wanna get out of this bed...." I say. He nods. "Let me go talk to the doctor."

He stood up and walked out of the room. I was alone now. It was silent mostly. I haven't heard it this quiet in months. When I get out of here. This will all go away. Everything would be hectic again.

But I knew that as soon as I did get out, everything and everyone were going to want to see me.

Then the doctor and Mitch walked in.
The doctor unhooked me and said I would be okay just that I needed to calm down and try not to stress too much.

Me and Mitch walked out and we got in the car. Before he started the car he asked "What were you dreaming about? Earlier you smiled in your sleep."

I didn't want to say. "I don't remember." I lie. He looked back at the steering wheel and started the car.
"Mitch... How far away from Adam's place are we?"
I ask. He says, "about 15 minutes away why?"

"I need to sneak into the house. And I need a way in without being seen." I respond. He begins driving...
