THE VIEW BETWEEN VILLAGES — NOAH KAHAN
'The things that I lost here, the people I knew.'

It's been a long time since Ron left. Cassie lost track after the fourth week. It's been hard— but they're all managing. Hermione doesn't cry herself to sleep anymore, which is progress. Cassie still thinks about Enzo every second of every day. Harry still wonders where his best friend has gone. But that aside, they've been travelling for almost three months in total now, only having collected one Horcrux.

Cassie's starting to feel like she's letting Regulus down.

But as of right now, she sits outside beside Hermione, her head on her shoulder as she tells Cedric about her day via morse code. Hermione has been reading for a while, Cassie occasionally joining over her shoulder.

It's awfully quiet here— which she supposes is a good thing really, especially as the full moon's tonight so noise would've drove her mad. It's also incredibly beautiful. Cassie reckons it's somewhere around the Lake District, for its beauty is unmistaken. This makes her think of Eddie and his family. She doesn't doubt there's been a funeral by now. She hates herself for not being able to attend.

The air is bitter, but that hardly matters. Cassie can feel the wind occasionally weaving through the ends of her air. The beautiful landscape they all witnessed yesterday is hidden behind a curtain of fog; a musky grey tone across the horizon.

"Hermione?" Harry shouts, frantically rushing out of the tent. Cassie lifts her head and the pair turn to watch him struggle his way towards them. "You were right." he says, lifting the golden snitch Dumbledore left him. "Snitches have flesh memories, but I didn't catch my first snitch with my hand. I almost swallowed it." he explains, handing the snitch to Cassie before sitting down.

Cassie turns the snitch over in her palm, enjoying the feeling of it in her hand. It's been a while. She traces the lettering on the front. "I open at the close." she murmurs.

"Yeah, what do you reckon that means?" Harry ask.

"I don't know." Cassie shrugs, Hermione doing the same.

"I think I've found something as well." Hermione announces, reaching for her book. Cassie hands the snitch back to Harry before turning her attention to Hermione. She flicks to a certain page and points to the drawn symbol at the top of the page. It's a triangle with a circle in the middle, a singular line drawing through it. It's obvious someone has drawn this just from the ink. "At first, I thought it was an eye, but now I don't think it is. It isn't a rune. And it's nowhere in Spellman's Syllabary. Somebody inked it in. It's not a part of the book."

"Luna's dad was wearing that at Bill and Fleur's wedding." Harry comments.

Hermione huffs. "Why would someone draw it in a children's book?" All three of them breathe in thought. It is strange, Cassie has to admit. She swears she's seen it before— but she can't for the life of her think where from.

"Look, you two, I've been thinking." Harry starts, and the pair know exactly what he's going to say. "I want to go to Godric's Hollow." he says, making both of them stare at him with the same look. "You know, it's where I was born— where my parents died."

"Harry, you know bloody well that's exactly where he'll expect you to go because it means something to you." Cassie sighs, standing up and stretching her leg muscles which have gained pins and needles.

"Uh, yeah, but it means something to him too, Cassie. He almost died there. Isn't that the type of place he'd like to hide a Horcrux?" he responds, also standing up.

"It's dangerous, Harry." Hermione sighs, joining them. He looks between them hopefully, and Cassie turns to Hermione before they start walking. "But even I have to admit, recently I've been thinking we'll have to go there at some point."
