Snow felt tears forming in her eyes as her mother and father started to fight. She hated when this happened. Her older brother, Blizzard, padded over and comforted her. "One day this'll stop and we wont have to go through this." he licked her head.

"What if it doesn't? What if he hurts us because he's angry, like he always does?" the she-cat had a scar on her shoulder from the last time her father attacked.

Their ears flattened as the angry screeches grew worse.

"Ice! Listen to me, just for ONCE! You've been sneaking out for six moons now, and I'm getting suspicious!" the hiss of Snow's father, Avalanche, echoed through the cave.

"You have no right to invade my buisiness!" Ice snarled.

The sound of blood splashing and a thump bounced around the hollow area and tears flooded Snow's eyes once more. Blizzard hugged her close and rested his head on hers, tears also streaming from his eyes. Vines swished as Avalanche entered the room, rage blazing in his eyes and directed at Blizzard. He stood protectively in front of Snow and growled at his father.

With a strong swipe, Blizzard was slammed into the cave wall and another vicious scar was raked into his little sister's side. Snow cried out in pain and Blizzard shakily stood up, cowering at the gaze of his father.

After a few hours, Snow was sleeping, curled up next to Blizzard lovingly. She dreamt of Blizzard and her running from her father, who had completely black eyes and seemed to have blood dripping from his mouth. They ran for a while, soon to plummet into inky darkness that lead to the peak of the mountain, the chilly air closing in on the brother and sister.

Snow woke with a jolt, noticing the sun was rising. "Wake up, you pathetic excuses for cats." Avalanche hissed. He cuffed their ears, leaving nicks. "Get out there and hunt, and I expect better than mice this time, rat-brains."

Blizzard and Snow trudged through the thick clumps of soft ice, trembling at the thoughts of what their father would do if they returned empty-pawed. "We have to run away!" Snow blurted out, shocked at what she had said. Blizzard looked just as shocked as she was. "I- You're right. Why should we take any more of this." the young tom sighed, "But how will we escape?"

That's it for the first chapter! More is coming, so stay tuned for many, MANY, chapters. But school is starting soon so I may not have time for writing this. (The cat in the picture is Snow BTW)
