"Lies." The black and white she-cat hissed. "You're lying. How am I supposed to trust YOU?"

Needlestar grinned deviously. "I'll make you."

An image of Blazingeyes appeared. "But it'll cost something dear..." the tom circled her. "Remember what happened to your-" he spat the last word- "-brother? What if it happens to him?"

"You wouldn't..."

"I would."

He floated in the air, admiring his claws with no emotion. "This is all just a nightmare.." Snowtail hissed to herself.

"No... This is reality.."

Snowtail woke up, slapping Finchsplash in the face with her tail. "Watch it.." she muttered groggily. Blazingeyes was laying in his nest. "Thank StarClan." breathed the ebony colored warrior. "At least he's safe."

She stepped carefully over the cats to wake the ginger tabby, hope flickering in her eyes. Snowtail reached out and poked him on the shoulder, waiting for him to stir. Blazingeyes hardly moved. She knew something was wrong.

Snowtail stepped over the unmoving body, her hope fading into dread. "Wake up." she whispered, and poked him again on the shoulder. His ruffled fur was chilly and smelled like old prey. "This isn't funny." she growled, licking his ear. He still didn't stir. Realization hit her like a mound of snow after an avalanche. "Blazingeyes?" she whispered loudly. Snowtail's blue eyes clouded in despair. Unable to control herself, she cried out, waking the other cats. "What is it now?" muttered a new warrior groggily. Finchsplash growled and rolled over. "He's dead... He's dead and there's nothing I can do.." Snowtail sobbed. "Of all the cats, why do Blizzardfang and Blazingeyes die!?" she unsheathed her claws, digging into the stony floor. Scissorclaw sniffed him. "Him? He was perfectly healthy and well fed, how could he die, especially this young?"

"Boulderstar?" Snowtail whispered feebly. "It-It's Blazingeyes..."

The scratchy voice of Needlestar echoed in Snowtail's mind, "The hurricane is coming..." was repeated over and over until she had to smother her face in a pile of freezing white fluff.

The newest warrior, Alpinebranch, snickered. "What was all THAT about? Is 'Needlestar' bothering you again?" he teased. "He's real, for the last time, Alpinebranch. That's how Blizzardfang and Blazingeyes died! Did you smell anything suspicious around the bodies?" the young brown tom smothered a giggle. "Nothing but your breath! What do you eat!?" "Shut up, mouse-face." "Buzzard-breath." "Dung-face!" "CARCASS-PELT!"

"As much as I'd love to keep listening to your wonderful insults, I would appreciate it if you'd shut your faces. I heard a rabbit." Finchsplash chuckled. Snowtail and Alpinebreath muttered something under their breaths and Snowtail face-planted into the snow. "Oops.." scoffed the undersized tom. "Crap. The rabbit got away. Mouse-brains." her ginger tail waved and smacked the younger cat in the face while the older one ducked. "Ha." snickered Snowtail.
