"Dad..stop! Please stop!" I screamed as he hit me again.
"This is what you deserve" he shouts, now hitting Liam. "This is what both of you deserve". Then he grabs his empty beer bottle and raises it above Liam's head "DAD! DAD NO!" I scream desperately as I try to stop him, but he pushes me onto the ground and smashes the bottle on Liam's head. My dad stomps up to his room and slams his door. I sit on the floor beside Liam, his eyes closed. "Liam...Liam please wake up" I say as tears start to fill my eyes. I put my hand on his chest to check for a heartbeat. Thank god, he's alive.
Although he's as tall as I am, I manage to pick him up and carry him out of the house. I shut the door as quietly as possible so my dad doesn't hear. Then I run to the hospital as quickly as I possibly can. I'm still crying when we arrive at the hospital, which, luckily, is close to our house. I hold Liam tightly against me while I try to explain the situation to a nurse through my tears. She calls another nurse and they bring Liam to a bed. They tell me he needs to spend the night there so they can be there when he wakes up, but that I can spend the night there.
After about an hour I realise I'm not going to fall asleep anytime soon, so I decide to call the one person I could always count on, even at 2am. Ethan. I diall his number and he picks up after one ring. "Hannah? What's wrong?" he asks. He souds worried, which I can understand. He knows about my dad, that he's been drinking a lot after he and my mom split up, and that he hits me and Liam when he's drunk. "Eth..." I say, sniffling "Eth my dad hit Liam again.. He's unconcious and has to spend the night in the hospital.." "I'm on my way" Ethan says and he hangs up. Oh god, I don't know what I'd do without him.
NOTE: Hi! If anyone even reads this, I hope you like it so far. Sorry for the super short chapter, I just want to see if anyone even likes it before I write like 20 pages hahah. Comment suggestions/opinions & vote and I'll post the next chapter :)
