I waited nervously on my front door step for Louis to arrive. He said he'd walk to school with me. I'm unsure of what the kiss meant to me and to Louis. Was it just a quick snog not meaning anything or was I wanting us to be a 'thing.'
'Hey Kat, how are you feeling?' Louis walked up to me kicking the stones on my driveway everywhere.
'Im okay.' I said bluntly with a fake smile on my face. We walked along the pavement, there was the most awkward silence I've ever witnessed. I finally spoke up: 'what did that kiss mean to you?' I asked puzzled. I could feel my cheeks getting warmer as Louis stared at the ground furrowing his eyebrows obviously thinking.
'I don't know, it felt good but was it real? If you know what I mean?' Louis replied.
'Yeah umm I liked it but I don't know maybe it's too soon. I've only known you for what, two days.' We both nodded agreeing that maybe it was too soon.
Liam met me at the front gate. 'I'll see you later.' Louis said as he ran over to the football pitch where there was a load of people kicking a ball about.
'You ready?' Liam asked sympathetically. I was really nervous about talking to Jessica's councellor, I felt like I would probably burst out in tears as I really don't want to speak about myself getting my head slammed against a concrete wall.
'No, but I guess I have to be.' I said as Liam put his arm around me walking into the main office.
'Hello Liam! How are you?' The admin at the desk almost shouted.
'Im great Thankyou. I was wondering if Miss Glass was around?' He asked innocently. She then looked at me quite shocked.. She obviously knew who put these purple and red marks on my face.
'Yes, of course she is in room 10, just along the corridor.' The admin lady said.
We made our way down the corridor as my legs got more and more like jelly. 'Liam, I don't think I can do this. I feel sick.' I muttered shakily.
Liam held both my arms as we took a seat on a bench outside room 10, 'Sure you can! You're just nervous, as soon as you get into that room you will be absolutely fine.' He said hugging me. Liam was such a nice guy, so genuine and warm.
'Hiya Liam. And you must be Katerina?' She questioned as I nodded. 'Come sit down.' She pointed to two chairs across from her desk.
'Okay, so what happened between you and Jessica?' She asked staring at me.
'I went into the dance changing rooms early to get changed and she suddenly appeared kicking me and s-slamming my head against the wall. She said to stay away from Liam and stuff.' I spoke.
'Okay. I'm sorry that this happened to you Katerina. Jessica, I'm sure Liam told you has a few problems in her life. She has depression and sometimes doesn't understand just how much she can hurt someone physically and mentally-' I then interrupted:
'I thought she was going to kill me! Surely she knows when she's about to murder someone!' I raised my voice.
'Yes. I think it would be best if you temporarily don't attend your dance class and maybe pick another subject instead.' She said.
'Why should I have to give up dance?! It's one of my favourite things. I wasn't even the one beating someone up!' I raised my voice again. 'Im sorry but I just don't understand why it's me having to pay for this when Jessica did the damage! I don't normally get angry over things but when someone's threatened to kill me I think something more should be done.' I carried on.
'I'll see what I can do.' Miss Glass said as she opened the door signalling for us to leave.
As soon as the door closed I started to cry. Liam quickly wrapped his arms around me 'I'm sorry Kat, I thought she'd help you.'
'So did I. I guess it's because I'm new and nobody cares about me.' I sobbed.
'I care about you.' Liam whispered. I hugged him tighter crying into his shirt.
'I need to go home.' I said wiping the tears from my eyes.
'I'll take you.' Liam said. Luckily we both had a free period so the school office just thought we were going for coffee or something. I had the worst headache and couldn't put up with people staring and whispering.
---
'Thanks for walking me home. You better get back to school.' I sniffed as I opened the big door.
'It's okay. I hope you come in tomorrow... Are you sure you don't want me to stay a little while?' Liam asked.
'I just want some time alone. But thanks.' I brought a smile to my face as Liam hugged me once again giving me a kiss on the cheek.
'Okay but text me if you need anything at all. Even just a hug. And I hope we can still go to the beach on Friday!' He smiled.
'I'd still love to.' I said giggling slightly. I watched Liam as he ran back down the road to get to school.
---
I jumped out my skin when the clock started chiming announcing that it was 12 noon. I decided I'd give my gran a call to see how she was.
'Hello.' She answered then coughed clearing her throat.
'Hey Gran, it's Katerina.' I said.
'Oh Katerina! How are you getting on in Manchester? How's school?' She asked happy to hear my voice.
'Its been okay, I met some really nice people but there's this one girl that thinks I'm trying to steal her boyfriend.. You know how it is!' I laughed.
'Oh yes haha. I'm missing you massively, it's quite lonely eating dinner by myself but I've decided to talk to the neighbours and there's this one lady Liz and her daughter Rosie who are coming round for afternoon tea on Sunday.'
'Aww that's nice. I think I've seen Rosie in the garden and stuff she seems nice and Liz she's the lady who puts your bins out. Anyway, are you feeling okay?' I asked.
'Yes yes, don't worry about me. The nurse comes and visits me on a Tuesday afternoon and I'm actually feeling a bit better.' My gran said. I could feel her smiling through the phone.
'No chest pains? No headaches?' I asked.
'Nope. Maybe a wee bit of a headache every second day but it's nothing as bad as before.'
'Thats good then. Anyway I better go, there's someone at the door. I'll call you soon love you Gran.'
'Okay bye darling love you too.' I heard the phone hang up on the other end. I ran to the door to see who it was.
'Hello, a delivery for Mrs. Taylor.' The man in the high viz. jacket said.
'Yeah that's my mum, just lay it anywhere to be honest.'
The man nodded and then waved at his other colleagues. Suddenly they all came in with large boxes covered in fragile tape. They were massive! I wasn't told about any deliveries.
'Hey mum, what's this massive delivery?' I phoned my mum curious of what is in the boxes.
'Ohh honey, I heard you weren't allowed to attend your dance class for a while because of that crazy girl so I bought you your very own... Wait for it.... Dance studio!!!!' She squealed down the phone.
'REALLY! Omg Thank you so much mum. Please try and get home early so we can set it up!' I laughed.
My very own dance studio. I couldn't believe it! I wondered where it was going to go.
---
'Kat!' My little sister ran up to me hugging me tightly.
'Hello princess how was school?' I asked lifting her up.
'It was goooooood I dwew you a picwure.' I couldn't help giggling at how she pronounced half her words. She then wriggled out of my arms running to her bag and then pulling out a piece of paper and showing it to me.
'Its you and Louis your boyfwend.' She smiled it was quite funny as her front two teeth had recently fallen out so I gave her the nickname 'Gappy'
I stared at the picture it was really cute. 'It's lovely. But I'm afraid Louis isn't my boyfriend.' I said smiling but it made me feel empty inside for saying he wasn't my boyfriend.. I don't know why but it just made me feel lonely.
