Kept by His Bunny
Minister Liang had never known a life without power. Without servants. Without control.
Yet here he was....wrapped in a thick quilt, a steaming bowl of broth in his hands, while Y/N fussed over him like an overprotective mother hen.
"Drink it all," she ordered, her soft bunny ears twitching. "No arguments."
Liang arched a brow. "You do realize I am still capable of feeding myself?"
She huffed, puffing up her round cheeks. "Not anymore! You're retired! That means I take care of you now."
He chuckled but obeyed, sipping the broth. Warm. Comforting. Much like her.
At first, he had thought she was simply playing her usual spoiled game. That she would grow tired of looking after a powerless old man. Yet days turned to weeks, and week to months and still, she remained......
She budgeted every coin..... refusing to let herself spend unnecessarily. She made him rest when he tried to work. She rubbed his shoulders when she caught him sighing.
She even tucked him in at night, curling up beside him, her little hands clinging to his robes as if afraid he'd disappear.
Liang found himself watching her more often...... how her nose scrunched when she counted coins, how she hummed while kneading dough, how she still pouted when denied sweets.
One evening, as she wiped his face with a damp cloth, he caught her wrist, pulling her close. "You're too soft on me," he murmured.
She blinked. "You were always soft on me first."
Liang stared at her..... his foolish little bunny, who had once only chased him for wealth and trinkets. Yet now, when he had nothing, she still stayed.
His chest ached.
Not with regret.
Not with loss.
But with love.
He sighed, pressing a kiss to her wrist. "Then I suppose I must return the favor."
