Rayvin continued to observe the attitudes of the adults as every single day either Serene or Willow would come to the house bearing gifts and various food items at certain times of the day. Every morning they'd be awakened and urged to brush their teeth and wash their sleepy faces. Of course, they never touched them, Rayvin was the one who learned first before teaching the rest. There were times though when Luna Willow would smile at Rayvin kindly and personally help her rub away eye boogers for her. Rayvin only watched her quietly whenever the luna did these things, in what Rayvin assumes was an attempt to gain her favorability. When she looked into something called a mirror, Rayvin made another guess. She thought that it was also possibly because she looked like that person called Willow's mate. Not seeing the person for a few days, Rayvin had been too lazy to recall his name. During this time, the children became more adjusted to life in the light. Rayvin even saw some of them shyly pull at Serene's sleeve to ask about things without needing her reassurance.
On a nice warm sunny day, Willow suddenly asks Rayvin as the children ran and played together in the front yard with Ailee sleeping like an angel on Rayvin's lap. "Speaking of which, Rayvin, you never told me the names of the other kids." Rayvin's response was as slow as always, she seemed to process things slower than others unless it came to her sisters and brothers. "..Names?" Rayvin looks down at Ailee, her eyes growing soft. "Ailee." Willow's eyes turn into crescents, "She's your sister?" Rayvin blanks out momentarily "They're all sisters and brothers." Willows expressed surprise looking between the brown, blond-haired children and even the firey red-headed little girl who was still playing despite her arm in a cast. And then Rayvin and Ailee who stood out from the rest not sharing the temperament most children should have. Thinking carefully about how to phrase it Willow clarifies her question. "I mean, you and Ailee have the same blood and a similar scent, unlike the others." Rayvin stiffens up and her pretty eyes grow as cold as ice.
She didn't look up but Willow could sense the girl's alienation and hostility when broaching the topic. "No. All of us are sisters and brothers." Willow was quick to take a step back and agree to her firm stance slightly worried the girl would begin to close herself off again because she broached a touchy subject. "I see, I'm sorry you all just looked different from each other. So you're all siblings, can you tell me their names?" Rayvin's estranged tone eases after Willow lets go of the topic. She plays with Ailee's soft black hair similar to her own while answering lightly. "They don't have names." Willow's expression stiffens, "They don't?"
Rayvin glances at Willows's awkward expression before looking over to the laughing group of children. Sensing her gaze, the children all look over excitedly waving at Rayvin who waves back before they continued their game. "They were weak. So they didn't get names." Weak? Willow's expression became cold at this instance, she also looks over at the nameless children with pursed lips. She was scared to ask, however, she couldn't help doing so. "Does that mean, you and Ailee are considered strong?" Rayvin's hands which started braiding Ailee's pretty hair paused. Her eyes cloud over as she recalls something only she knew about before she went on braiding indifferently. "Maybe." "Maybe?" Willow repeats dazedly, and Rayvin nods.
"Maybe. I killed adults because they touched Ailee so they named me." Willow jerks her head back staring at Rayvin with wide eyes. The girl who admitted to murder didn't notice the strange and estranged light in Willows's eyes. "And Ailee was beautiful and named after clawing the face of an adult who tried to take her somewhere when I was asleep." Willow's expression worsens, the Luna's pupils tremble and turn red. Take her away? Because she's beautiful? Her heart jolts when she understood what Rayvin meant her eyes almost showing their whites. "Willow?! What's the matter are you alright?!" With a hand to her racing heart, Willow took a deep breath to calm her chaotic thoughts and emotions.
