Rayvin sat in the arms of a proud Artemis just on the edge of the borders where his pack land began. Her expression was as bland as ever, her black hair tied up high with a red ribbon ponytail so her long black hair swung behind her head at various speeds depending on fast Artemis walked. Today she had been given a pretty black summer dress that was also adored with small red ribbons around the hem of the skirt. A charming laced waist sash was tied around her with a black clothe cut butterfly. The child was like a lovely black butterfly drawing the eyes of Artemis's gathered pack members. It didn't help that Artemis was also as fond of the color as she was and wore a black dress shirt with tan pants.

Since she had made her choice in Artemis's office, his first lesson was for her to get used to the stares of others. Or more specifically, get used to the stares of his pack members who were curious about the children. Especially the child who their alpha seemed to carry around everywhere as if she were his own proudly showing her off. They wanted to know what was so special about this child who seemed to pop out of nowhere that looked exactly as their alpha does. It wasn't that solid black wolves were legendary, but they were a rare batch compared to others that had brighter or less ominous pelts. So, they couldn't help wondering if this was their alpha's long-lost daughter or a relative's child.

And, if following their alpha's pelt hers would be a pure black as well which would be a once more astonishing coincidence. Well, no matter what they thought, it was obvious that Artemis held her in high regard so they'd have to be careful around her anyways. Rayvin could somewhat guess their thoughts as those curious eyes landed on her one by one again just like they did the day before when Artemis took her on a walk through the pack territory. As he had planned, Rayvin really was getting used to the eyes that landed on her where ever he took her. An alpha keeps their head held up high no matter where they are. He had told her that, he wanted her to fix her habit of lowering her head to draw less attention as soon as possible so others wouldn't be able to look down on her easily in the future.

Right now, the pack was waiting for the arrival of the person who would be teaching her sisters and brothers in the future. Artemis said that the old wolf wasn't a bad person and he would be a good teacher for her siblings. However, he had also warned her that since she was like himself, she probably wouldn't like the person so it was best to avoid him. Although Rayvin didn't know why he would be able to predict this type of thing in the first place. She seriously considered the possibility of such a scenario while mentally preparing to access the wolf Willow called dad and the man Artemis called a sneaky ruthless father-in-law. Under his breath of course.

Artemis's proud face suddenly became sour but in less than a millisecond changed into a serious and proper one. Rayvin was the only one who caught his quick change in expression and smelled the powerful scent of something familiar but overpowering dominating all her senses. "Ha." Artemis scoffs. Her nose twitches as the sharpness in her eyes grew, and her lips pull a frown. She noticed that none of the other pack members were as sensitive as herself and finally understood why Artemis said what he did. He was doing it on purpose.

The overwhelming smell, he's marking the place he's traveled. I'm here.  That's what the wolf's scent was saying. And, Rayvin held back her growl of displeasure, Artemis was also right that she wouldn't like him. The old wolf came into view mere seconds after she smelled him, his pelt was a dignified grey like a silver fox. The moment he appeared all wolves stood up straight as if he were royalty rubbing both Artemis and Rayvin the wrong way.

The large wolf had no consideration for their disdain and when he stops just before the border with an indifferent and mighty aura, Artemis pulled an almost reluctant grin at him. "Welcome to the pack Winter, sir Erett. We've been anticipating your arrival for quite awhile now." The large grey wolf with hairs of silver continued to stare down the wolfishly grinning alpha who was welcoming him with his words but challenging him with his burning red eyes. The pack members shift uncomfortably as the two powers clashed without words, anyone who wasn't intimidated was insane. The tension was so thick one could walk smack into it as if it were a cement wall.
