After Odelia said yes, we spent the rest of the evening in the dining room. Laughing, kissing, talking about the future. We were so excited, but then I remembered the rules. Since I had proposed Alden only a week to decide who he was going to propose to and do it. In the middle of all the euphoria I forgot about my twin. I had him be there when I proposed but that was for me, and now he was in turmoil. About to make the biggest decision of his life and what was I doing? I was ignoring him.
I told Odelia that I would be back in a hour or two. She said okay and headed to her room to freshen up and tell her maids. I headed to the place that I knew my brother only went when he needed to think. He went to Uncle Aspen's.
I found him in the kitchen of Uncle Aspen and Aunt Lucy's with a cup of coffee and a cookie. Aunt Lucy always wanted to have children but they couldn't, so when ever we went to their house, we were treated like her children.
Alden sat at the table sipping coffee and looking lost in thought and Aunt Lucy was standing at the sink looking worried. I walked over to her, whispered that I would take care of him. She nodded and left silently.
"Alden?" At the sound of my voice his head turned, he looked exhausted.
"Ah, my brother. How is Odelia?" he asked seeming to be out of it.
"Alden? What are you thinking about, Are you upset with me?" I blurt out
"Upset? With You? No. Just scared. What if I make the wrong choice? What will happen then?"
" You won't, you love Isabella. And it won't be hard to tell her, don't worry." He looked up at me again and gave me a sad smile.
"Well then, I guess I have some planning to do." And with that he set down his cup stood up and started sprinting toward the room of his girl.
I followed. When he stopped he was right in front of Isabella's door. He knocked briskly and stepped back. Isabella herself opened the door. He smiled brightly, closed the distance between them and kissed her. When they broke for air they smiled, he whispered something to her and she looked shocked. Then she started jumping up and down,
"WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!!" She screamed, and I smiled and walked away, back to my own fiancee.
