The creatures of the forest were silent, sensing that the Slenderman was near. That was the funny thing about animals - they had more natural instinct than humans, more chance of survival.
But nobody survived the Slenderman. It wasn't in his nature to be forgiving or merciful, so the pitiful cries coming from his prey were nothing new.
The Slenderman kept a tight hold upon his newest meal, a young woman. Couldn't have been more than thirty, pretty little thing too, not that it mattered, she was a mere carcass now.
Upon hearing footsteps, Slender pushed back into the shadows of a nearby tree, dragging the - now fleshless - woman along with him; he didn't need anyone seeing her and causing a ruckus.
Out of the trees stepped a young man, around the same age of the woman who Slender had just consumed. Presumably her mate.
The man continued to walk towards the area of trees the Slenderman was stood.
"Erica! Erica!" The man stopped, then resumed his shouting. Slenderman assumed 'Erica' was the woman. Well, he thought snidely, you'll be seeing her sooner than you think.
Slender dropped the bones to the floor soundlessly, stepping out of the shadows as the man had his back towards him. He felt his appendages sprout from his back and elongate, vaguely resembling a squids tentacles, though Slender's were black and smooth, more like a metal than an oil.
A sadistic grin spread across Slender's face as a piercing screech filled the air as he plunged a tentacle through the mans abdomen, bursting his organs. He buried another tentacle in the left side of the humans chest, effectively cutting off the noise and leaving it in an eerie silence as the Slenderman ate.
The human never even knew what hit him.
