Chapter 12

The next morning Anica was taken to the dining room for breakfast. Drake hadn’t arrived yet. She sat patiently, eyeing her food. It looked delicious but of course she couldn’t start eating until he arrived. She was really hungry, but common etiquette demanded that she waited for him to arrive before she gobbled up the food that lay on the table, viciously taunting her. It was practically screaming ‘eat me! I’m so delicious! C’mon! Dig in! You know you want to!’ Anica looked at the food with longing. Damn you etiquette.
After what seemed like forever, His Royal Highness finally arrived.
Once they were both seated Anica began eating. By now she was too hungry to care. After she had stuffed her mouth with all the food she could lay her hands on she asked, “What will we be doing today?” After a bit of a pause she added, “My Lord.”
“Whatever you wish. Though today I will not be joining you.”
“Why?! And what will I do alone?”
“There are many servants here in the Castle. I’m certain you will find someone to accompany you.”
“Okay… And what do I do with that person?”
“There is plenty to do here at the castle. For instance, you could go for boat rides, or play with the animals, or go riding, or read, or paint, or swim, though I’d rather you not, you could write, or even go for a walk or if you like.”
“And who would you recommend, to accompany me?”
After some deliberation Drake replied.
“Caanan. I don’t believe he has anything to do today. And I enjoy his company.”
But he’s mean! Anica wanted to scream, but she knew better than to open her big mouth. Drake could get offended and get annoyed her with her… again.
Maybe she could get some gossip about Drake and maybe even Juliet out of Caanan, though she didn’t count on it. He didn’t seem like the type who would be into gossip and things like that. Also, she wasn’t even sure there was going to be any conversation between them.
After breakfast, Drake rose abruptly and took her leave. Shortly thereafter Caanan enterted and bowed politely at the door.
“Where do you wish to go today My Lady?”
“You tell me.” Anica said, not really knowing what to do.
She was a girl from the twenty first century and she was currently being technology deprived.
She didn’t think she could take it much longer. She was dying to sit on her computer and play silly games, watch stupid videos online, log onto facebook, sit on 9gag and do all those lovely things she took for granted. If and when she got home, Anica vowed to hug her phone and kiss it. She never imagined that she could miss an inanimate object so much.
It was after all her lifeline. Her source of entertainment when she was bored, a camera when she was looking pretty, a mirror when a real one is nowhere to be found, a conversation starter (since she was obsessed with phone covers), a math whiz when she was trying to finish her math homework ten minutes before it is due, her guide when she was lost (which happened more often than you’d imagine), her Dj when her dad insists on playin his lame music in the car and of course you could well, call and text people.
It’s true. You only truly realize the importance of something when its gone. Damn you whoever said that, Anica thought.
“Do you play any sports?” She asked finally.
“I do enjoy a good game of gameball”
“Of what?” Anica asked.
“Gameball. It’s a rather common sport.”
“In which century?” Anica asked before it hit her. The people here were currently in god only knows which century.
“Never mind.” She said finally. “Let’s just play catch. You comprender?”
“I beg your pardon?”
“This is going to be a long day.” She muttered as she left the room with Caanan in tow.

I mean i had typed out the other half but it was really lame and i'm not happy with it... sp yeah... And i wanted to put this up coz i cudnt wait :P
