The next couple of days are pretty peaceful and I've noticed that there seemed to be a certain lightness that surrounded the pack. I've noticed that Jewels and Amelia seem to be getting along quite well.
I hadn't seen Jewels this happy in a long time.
"Alpha..." says Amelia, her voice a little timid. Although she had apologized days ago, she still has hesitation when speaking to me.
"Yes, Amelia?"
"I apologize but I'm going to be a little late to training today."
"Alright, thank you for letting me know... see you then."
"Yes, Alpha."
Her presence leaves my mind.
"You're smiling again!" says Winston, smiling cheekily. "Talked to Amelia?"
I frown at him. "Shut it."
He holds his hands up in front of him. "Don't shoot the messenger, I'm just stating what was obvious." And then he smirks. "But thanks for confirming that it was in fact Amelia."
I growl and throw a pillow at him.
I hear his slight cackle as he disappears from the room affectively dodging what I threw.
I shake my head. Winston is one of my closest friends and I wouldn't change him for the world but sometimes. I could just strangle him, but I wouldn't be able to bring myself to do it because then I would have no one to talk to.
I exit my room and enter the hall where I am instantly greeted by two female servants who giggle and blush at the sight of me. It wasn't like I didn't notice, but I wouldn't be able to return any of their feelings.
We Wolfe-Ritter along with the senses and the abilities of wolves we got their ability to imprint. Which means when we find the significant other we are supposed to be with we fall hard, and coupled with human emotion, it is quite an intimate relationship, you feel what they feel, know what they are thinking.
You are theirs and they are yours, as long as both of you live. It's a lifelong commitment.
One not to be taken lightly.
"Good morning, ladies." I say smiling slightly before continuing to walk down the hall towards the indoor training room, the snow was too heavy to do anything outside. So I figured we'd do a little partner sparing with weapons.
When I arrive to the training room a lot of the elite members along with the Cubs are waiting for me. Immediately the room goes silent when I enter it.
"Please relax, but listen... Today we're going to be using weapons and sparing, both of these activities you will have a partner."
They all erupt into cheers.
The doors open from behind me and I smell Orion and Amelia enter the room together, Orion's scent heavily clinging to Amelia.
My wolf growls a deep rumble that almost breaks its way up to the surface.
"I thought you were going to be late."
Amelia's surprised voice answers a second later. "What I was doing ended a lot sooner than expected, Alpha."
"Well, good now you won't miss the beginning of this session, let's see how in practice you are."
"Or not." She adds before leaving my mind.
I smile slightly, hiding it.
"Amelia, I want you to work with Ara."
I hear some people gasp in the crowd and some of them snicker.
But Amelia seems un-phased by all of this and goes and stands by Ara who acknowledges her with a nod.
"Alright get your weapons, we'll begin with Jewels and Bridge versus Nicole and Nick." I say.
Orion comes up to me and I can smell Amelia's scent clinging to him strongly.
My wolf once again growls and this time it comes to the surface softly.
"Is something wrong, Erik?" He asks me.
"No, nothing's wrong, thank you for asking, Orion."
"You're sure? Don't lie to me, I know you too well..."
"Alright, get set. Fight!" I say not responding to his statement.

All of the spare went well as expected, Bridge and Jewels having flawless team work as usual, they are the envy of the class and the expectation that needs to be reached. Now for the last Match up we had was Ara and Amelia vs Ayra and Aries. There was a tension in the air as everyone waited to see how this would play out, in the past anyone who was teamed up with Ara didn't work out.
But I think Amelia would be able to handle it somehow.
I see Ara say something to Amelia, Amelia just nods and turns her attention forward.
Ara, sighs but she gets in to a fighting stance with her sword.
"Ready, begin!" I say.
And as I thought Amelia handled it very well to the surprise of everyone in the room, their opponents, and Ara herself seemed surprised. Within in minutes they'd subdued both Ayra and Aries. They didn't look to happy about it either.
I clap. "Good work today, don't forget to practice. We're going to be learning another combination the next time around."
Everyone leaves the training hall, except for bridge who was lingering around and seemed to be waiting for Amelia who was talking to Ara. But when they are done talking Bridge seems to change his mind at the last moment and leaves the room quickly.
I can see Amelia sigh slightly with a small smile on her face, and I knew she was going to wait until he was ready to talk to her. That was Amelia, she respected other people's boundaries and didn't pressure them until they were ready.
"Amelia, you did well..." I say approaching her.
She places the weapon she had back into her space. "You don't sound surprised... But everyone else does seem to be."
"Yes, no one seemed to be able to partner up with Ara,"
"Well, that's because they were treating her injury like a weakness and not an advantage which she has definitely played it to her advantage. She is the strongest fighter in here, with the exception of you, Orion, Bridge, and Jewels. She has heightened senses because of the need to protect that blind spot." She shifts her weight crossing her arms. "But she can't do it all, so I helped out with that, protecting her blind side to a point while being able to still fight. That's why partners are still there, correct?"
"Right."
"And other people seem to baby her, I could tell by the way she spoke to me by the way she spoke to me before we started, she doesn't need to be babied and I know that so I treated her like the warrior she is."
"But you seemed to have fought with someone like that before you seemed used to it."
Her eyes become guarded again and a little bit darker as she shut herself off to me. "There was someone... A friend." She looks up at me. "But she's dead." Without another word she turns and walks out of the room.
