It was late the next morning as the group were gathering in a large dining room eating some golden syrup porridge which was left in the kitchen. The dining was rather plain and lined with tables for four people. All the group, Shadow included, were tucking in except Luxe who was deep in thought. She couldn’t stop thinking about what Zodiac had told her “come tonight…the one you know as Shadow…will be no more”
“Just what did he mean? His choice of words suggest…he isn’t going to die but…he put emphasize on the word “You”. So does that mean…how we see him?”
“Luxe…what’s wrong?” said Sophia startling her “you’re not eating your breakfast” Sophia walked over and knelt down “Are you okay?”
“Yeah there’s just…a lot on my mind”
“Do you want to tell big sister Sophia about it?
“No it’s okay. It’s no big deal”
Sophia smiled and then walked over to Max. Max then noticed her coming towards him “how about you Max?”his eyes remained transfixed “are you feeling okay this morning?” he eventually snapped out of it
“oh…erm…I’m okay”
“Ok…that’s good” she then walked over to Shadow and bent down in-front of him “how about you? Come on you tell me” Shadow just continued to eat his porridge “you’re no fun at all you know” Shadow finished and stood up from his seat and began to walk away “hey Shadow” she walked in-front of his path “Where are you goin…whoa”
Sophia tripped up landing on Shadow smothering him “oh…clumsy me” “would you mind getting off me!?” said Shadow angrily as he grabbed her and almost threw her off of him banging her head on an adjacent table
“ow” the whole group looked after “what did you do that for? All I did was trip” Shadow stood up unamused
“if those things prevent you from seeing the ground…try having them reduced” this comment changed Sophia’s whole atmosphere as a cold chill could be felt in the room
“Do you…” she said getting up hanging her head “want to repeat that?”
The whole group watched Sophia stared furiously at Shadow “now…what is your problem anywhere?” he didn’t answer “Come on…let’s hear it”
“Alright…I’ll answer it. Since I started I was fine and dandy. Going round the world at my own leisure…and now. I’ve got two headache’s to babysit” Ariana and Julia looked depressed “another girl with an attitude problem” Luxe turned angry “a man with a super-hero complex” Max looked annoyed “and you who nearly suffocates everyone with your lady-lumps” the atmosphere grew colder as snow began to rise around her
“now…I’m normally a nice person” she looked at him through fierce blue eyes “but…I won’t tolerate anyone” she turned her hand into a spear of ice “who picks on my friends!!”
“No Sophia don’t” called Ariana but she continued to thrust with her spear to which Shadow caught it with his bare hand. Sophie struggled to free it
“Finished?” asked Shadow as he deflected Sophia away and then kicked her in the gut sending her into the wall.
