West's POV
...
I open my eyes, and as everything comes to a focus, I realize where I am. And what just happened. I then look over to Spencer, but she's not there. I panic and jump out of the car. It's hard to open the door, since my car was absolutely CRUSHED, but I managed. I brush off the broken shards of glass that were all over my shirt and jeans, and then I see my surroundings.
I crashed into a tree, coincidentally right behind the park we were going to go to. Oh gosh, my car looks terrible. That's going to cost a FORTUNE to fix, oh no, what's my mom going to say????
I panic about my car for a few minutes, then I remember Spencer. And how she's not here. I look around seeing the road to the right, and more woods to the left.
I glance behind me at the park, but it's deserted. So I start walking left and get deeper and deeper in the woods. I can't find her anywhere. I'm then running, and as the brush and trees get thicker, it gets darker and I can no longer see the sky.
I stumble over many branches and regain my balance, but then I felt something hard under my feet and fall flat on my face (which I'm surprised I hadn't done already). My face hit the dirt and some of it got in my mouth and on my eyelids. I stumble getting myself up, also hurting my wrist on the way. Not wanting to rub them, as afraid of getting dirt in them, I blink profusely for a few minutes trying to get the dirt off my eyelids. I must've blinked 182 times before I finally was able to fully open them again.
As the sky had already gotten dark, I was surprised to see a bright glowing light. 'Is that a flashlight??????', I thought. I squint into it, but still can't see anything. I spit out the remainder of dirt in my mouth and slowly walk towards the illuminessence.
Spencer's POV
My eyes pop open and it's like a horror movie. There's blood and glass everywhere, the car is completely wrecked, and the sky is a dull grey-blue. I try to open the door, but it won't budge. So I jumped out of the already broken window and ended up falling head first to the ground."Ow!", I say as I stand up and see all the glass in my legs. 'Oh. So all the blood was mine... Yikes', I think to myself (or maybe I said out loud, I don't know) as I try to pick out all the shards. Once I'm done I look around and then back at the car.
"OH MY GOD, WEST," I scream as I see her laying there in the drivers seat. I guess I had been so overwhelmed I had forgotten all about her. I ran over to the other side of the car and opened the door after pulling on it for a minute. I shook her and yelled her name, but she wouldn't wake up. I got really scared and my anxiety started going crazy. I was shaking and I felt like I was going to throw up. I continue to shake her and after about five minutes I stop and close the door. Thankfully, she's breathing, but I'm still worried.
My breathing is really staggered, so I go walk around and do breathing exercises. I don't know how long I did those, since I left my phone in the car (and it was probably shattered anyways) so I didn't know the time. But the sky was just a little bit darker than it was before, although, I couldn't really tell since there were so many trees overhead.
I look back down from the sky and see a really HUGE root of a tree. I put my foot on it, and then walk across it to the tree it came from. Something about the root just doesn't seem like actual wood. But I don't know. I'm probably just imagining things. I go up to the also HUGE tree, and then sit down, leaning up against the trunk. Suddenly I'm falling backwards, I think INTO the tree??????? WHATS GOING ON?!??!
I then proceed to fall backwards down something that feels like a slide maybe? But I can't see anything, it's pitch black dark.
The kind of darkness when you wake up at 3 am and your eyes just WONT adjust to the darkness. The kind that's only in nightmares, when you're in a maze and someone or something is chasing you and you can't find your way out because you can't find the light switch; but you're also afraid to find the light switch because you also don't want to see where the thing is and what is going on. That's what this darkness is like.
I then squeeze my eyes shut tight and try not to scream as the wind rushes up against me and caresses my face, brushing my body like I'm a painting. I then see flashing colors behind my eyelids, and I slowly peek them open. The darkness is gone, but I wish it hadn't left. There's carnival clowns all over the walls in neon glowing colors and stairs on the ceiling (if there is one). I look around more and there's crazy abstract that I can't even describe.
'Everything's so creepy... I know it looks innocent, but I just get this weird vibe-' "OOMPH" I yell, as the thing I'm sliding on goes on a hill and I free fall for a second, before hitting the slide again. I look down, and yep. I was correct, it is a slide. Then I feel the bottom drop out from underneath me.I quickly realize that I'm not going to land back on the slide and that I'm ACTUALLY free falling into WHO KNOWS WHAT. The darkness is back again, so I can't see anything. Thankfully, it's not as dark as the first time and I can actually see my hand when I put it in front of my face.
Then my brain registers all that has happened and is happening and I started crying. Just out right sobs. The tears were flying upward with the force of the wind. I just kept on crying hoping that this was all a dream.
My best friend just got into a car wreck and she might be severely hurt or might even have stopped breathing when I was gone and we had only JUST met. Then I had a panic attack. Then I fell into a TREE. Then I was on a slide and there werE CRAZY LIGHTS AND CREEPY CLOWNS AND DARKNESS AND ABYSS AND NOW IM FALLING AND I DONT KNOW WHEN IM GOING TO LAND OR IF ILL BE OKAY OR IF IM GOING TO BE MURDERED BY THE PSYCHO WHO MADE THIS OR IF IM EVER GOING TO GET OUT OF HERE OR EVER SEE MY FAMILY OR WEST AGAIN AND THROUGH ALL OF THIS EVERYTHING HAS BEEN COMPLETELY SILEN- and then music started playing...
"D-O-L-L-H-O-U-S-E
I see things that nobody else sees..."It was faint but I could still make it out. It started getting louder and louder 'oh god, that means I'm almost at the end of this falling. And who knows what will be down there or what I'll land on..'
"She's comin up the attic
Plastic
Go back to being plasticNo one ever listens this wallpaper glistens
Don't let them see what goes down in the kitchenPlaces, places, get in your places
Throw on your dress and put on your doll faces..."I would start singing along, but this is getting too weird. And honestly, I'm absolutely terrified. Right as I'm thinking I'm about to die- I land. On a... Bounce house??
