"Common, we are going to be late for history!" My best friend Ally called.
I have known Ally since 2nd grade and now, since we are just going on our 4th week of being a senior in high school, I consider her as more of a sister.
"Holy moly, ok slow down!" I said out of breath. I was not a track star, unlike Ally who has been running ever since I've known her. My size didn't help either. Every time I ran I felt like I was going to puke and, even though I play Waterpolo, swimming is the same way.
A few months after the little discussion with my mom in 8th grade she made me try a very wide range of sports. She first made me try soccer, then softball, then lacrosse all of which involved running and I tried my best in all of them but I knew I sucked at running. I told her I hated running so she suggested swimming and about a year into swim (and a year of me dying) my coach said I would make a great Waterpolo goalkeeper for my size and hight (this was in the very beginning of my sophomore year and I was 5.10, already taller than most the girls and even some of the boys). I was a good goal keeper and not a very good field player, since I was the slowest and worst swimmer ever, so I stuck to being the Waterpolo goalkeeper. But I've been pushing my self and I actually lost a few pounds but it wasn't enough to be noticed and I was trying everything to look better.
"Jeez, I know you don't run but..." She said already half way into the classroom just as the bell rang.
"Shut up" I said a little to loudly right by the classroom door and when I walked in, what seemed like the whole class was giggling at what I said. I could literally feel my face turn a bright red.
"Okay, miss Hartley take your seat" Mr Kelly said which made me blush even more. Mr Kelly was only 25 and was the hottest teacher I had ever seen, and it wasn't just me who thought so it was the entire student body (well other then the boys). He had dirty blond hair and bright green eyes he was about 6.2 and had the most beautiful, buff body I have ever seen. He always wore long sleeve button up shirts that you could still see his muscles through and this was his very first year teaching.
"Umm... Sorry Mr Kelly" I said taking my seat next to Ally in the the very back of the classroom. She was trying to hold in a laugh and I kicked her under the table. She let out a tiny squeal along with a little but of laughter and Mr Kelly gave us a warning look and got back to writing on the board.
After class, and pretty much the rest of the day, all I could think about was all of my peers eyes on me, laughing in history class. How could I have been so stupid as to say that so loud?
When I went to Waterpolo practice after school I didn't block half the shots taken and my coach started to notice.
"You feeling ok, Sloan?" Coach Rowland said. Sloan was my last name and coach always called everyone by there last name.
"Ummm.... Yeah coach everything's good" I said while swimming to the edge of the pool to hear him better and hoping he would drop the subject and I could get back to practice.
"You positive?"
"Yeah"
"Listen I know you've been having body issues lately and I want you to know that I underst-"
"Wait? How did you know about that?" I said interrupting him.
"Oh... Um... Your mom came here a couple weeks ago saying she was worried about you and to keep a eye on you" he said and then " but get back to practice!" he said suddenly, trying to avoid talking about it.
As I was swimming back to the cage I knew I was going to have a serious talk with my mom when I got home.
Was up guys!! I know this might be a little boring but it will get more exciting soon don't worry!
