I leaned back in the car, looking out the window, holding my stuffed bear in my lap.
"Are you okay back there, Koda?" My mother asked me. Between me and my twin brother Kodey, I was the reason we had to move. My last school was just absolutely terrible.
"I'm fine, mom" I gave a slight smile. But the truth of it all was that the memories still haunted me.
I held my stuffed bear a little tighter in my lap.
"Stop, you're squeezing me to death!" Charlie yelled at me. Everyone thinks I'm crazy because I can see and hear things other people can't.
I've had this demon around with me since I was six years old. But he's not the stereotypical demon. His name is Charlie, but right now he possesses my bear.
My grandma had bought me the nice bear from a thrift shop for my sixth birthday and that's when my demon, Charlie, came into my life. I'm the only one who can see him unless he possesses something, but he's very much real.
"I'm sorry, Charlie" I whisper, releasing my strong grip a little. I heard Charlie let out a sigh of relief.
"Everything is going to be okay, sweetie" mom continued to drive. We were moving. It would be a new day, a new life.
"I'm excited to move!" My six year old sister, Kelly, smiled at me.
"Because of you, I had to leave all my friends behind" Kodey growled at me.
I looked down at Charlie. It was the truth. They all had to move because I couldn't handle it. But the truth was...
I sighed. The truth was, they didn't know what happened to me that day.
I was questioned by the police, the investigators... but I stayed silent. I couldn't bring myself to answer. Only Charlie knew what happened that day, what really occurred.
"You're going to be fine, Koda" Charlie reassured me.
"I really hope so, Charlie, I really hope so" my voice was a small whisper. Charlie could move things he possesses, but right now he's smart enough not to.
"Aren't you too old for that bear, anyway?" Kodey raised an eyebrow. No doubt, he's really upset at me. I didn't like the fact my identical twin brother was mad at me.
"We are here, my boys and my baby girl" mom smiled as we pulled in to the driveway of our new house. It was a two day drive. My father was already here to help prepare everything, plus he had to drive the moving truck here.
I held Charlie to my chest as I got out of the car.
"Hey, did you have a nice drive?" Father asked as he picked up Kelly. She gave him the biggest smile.
"Yes, I did, daddy!" Kelly laughed.
"Kodey, Koda, you guys each have your individual rooms. Most things are unpacked so feel free to walk around town! Your rooms are the first upstairs and you each have your own bathroom" father smiled. I nodded sheepishly.
I walked upstairs and it didn't take long to realize which room was mine. It was a fairly large room and the bathroom was on the right.
The walls were painted blue and on the back wall there is a king size bed with blue comforter. The end of the bed is facing the bathroom. On the left wall is a blue dresser.
"I think moving is good for you" Charlie said, placing one of his stuffed paws over his mouth, not that it'd mute anything. I'm the only one who could hear him, anyways, unless he temporarily possesses a human.
