Warning: There is mention of self harm.

I will come back for you.

A shiver ran down my spine as I remembered Joey's last words to me. No, I was safe now. He couldn't find me, he couldn't.

I hugged my knees to my chest. I don't know how long I stayed in bed like that, but by the time it was six, I finally couldn't take it anymore.

I grabbed my knife, and pressed the blade to my skin. I loved the feel of the metal, even though it did awful things to my skin. It made me ugly, and brought me bittersweet pain I learned to endure. I have to endure these awful times.

The alarm clock rang out, startling me. I wiped the blood off my blade before hiding it under my mattress. Blood ran down my arms. I sighed.

"Will you be okay?" Charlie asked me, obviously worried. I could see how he looks like as he's not possessing the bear right now. He was a pretty cute demon. He had frizzy short black hair with messy bangs, and blood red eyes.

"I'm fine, I'm fine" I sighed, though not sure if I was really trying to reassure him. Charlie wrapped his arms around me. I'm also the only one who could feel or hear him unless he possesses something with feeling or something that could talk.

I grab a clear pair of clothes and walk straight into my bathroom, stopping in front of a full body mirror. I strip out of all my clothes and look at my body for a second.

I sighed. I had scars all over my body from self harm. Old and new scars covered my arms, my legs, my chest, my stomach and even my ankles. On top of that, I still had some scars from being shot.

I had long, black hair that went down to the crook in my back and royal blue eyes.

Sighing once again, I decided to put my clothes on. Lastly, I grabbed a black hoodie and put it on. I wore all black so I hoped I wouldn't stand out too much.

Seeing that Charlie was now possessing the bear again, I stuffed him in my backpack. I can't survive a day without him.

I walked down the stairs to my room, seeing that everyone was already there. I sat down.

"Good morning, honey. Did you sleep well?" Mom smiled at me. I just nodded even though it was a lie.

"We have to go, the bus will be here any second!" Kodey told Kelly and I. It was a mixed grade bus. I grabbed my backpack again and walked out.

We waited about three minutes before the bus got here. Once on, I went straight to the bus and proceeded to close my eyes, but not daring to fall asleep.

"Hey, you!" I open my eyes sleepily to see a strange boy. He had short, choppy brown hair and green eyes. "I'm Caine. You are?"

"Koda" I replied quietly. I was normally a quite reserved person, ever since the accident anyways.

"Nice to meet you, Koda" he smiled and sat next to me. We picked up a few more people before we arrived at the high school. It appears high school gets dropped off first.

I was walking towards the exit on the bus when I saw Kelly.

"Bye bye Koda!" She grinned at me.

I ruffled her hair in response. "Bye, Kelly." I just got off the bus when one of the high school boys tripped me. I fell, but didn't try to get up or think much of it. Instead, I looked up at the guy who tripped me. He had short, fuzzy blond hair and pale blue eyes.

"Darren, stop making fun of the new boy" a guy next to him replied. I sighed, the guy who spoke looked stunning. He had long mid shoulder length brown hair and gorgeous brown eyes.

"Ryan, why does it even matter?" Darren sighed.

"Ignore Darren and my brother" Caine sighed, but offered me a hand, "need help?" I gave a shaky smile, but took his offer.

"Can you..can you show me the way to the office?" I asked hesitantly. Caine nodded.

"Here, follow me" Caine smiled brightly, grabbing my hand and leading the way. We eventually reached a set of big black doors. "Here it is."

"I will be right back then" I told him and entered the office.

"Hello, how may I help you?" The receptionist asked me. I looked down nervously.

"Um, I'm your new student Koda Baker" I mumbled.

"Ah yes, here's your schedule" she smiled. I looked it over and saw I had English first, Math second, Chemistry third and Theatre fourth. Lunch was right after third.

I walked out and was surprised to see Caine was still waiting for me.

"What do you have?" Caine smiled. I handed him my schedule and he looked it over. "We have English and Chemistry together. Come on, class is about to start."

We walked into the class and the teacher smiled at me. I noticed Kodey walk in a minute later. Other than that, the class was already full.

"Hello, you are my new students Koda and Kodey Baker, correct?" We both nodded, "Great! I'm Mrs. Lynn. Koda, Kodey, you can go sit at the table with Ryan and Caine." She pointed in the direction so we knew.

I ended up sitting across from Ryan, and Kodey sat next to me.

"Hello, I'm Ryan Taylor" the boy smiled, "I'm sorry for Darren's behavior earlier."

"It's okay" my voice was barely above a whisper. Ryan looked incredibly cute and I was incredibly nervous.

By lunch time, I figured I would be sitting alone. That was until Darren sat at my table with a smug smirk on his face, surprising me.

"Why'd you come here?" He asked.

My eyes widened. I couldn't answer why I moved. Instead, I shook my head.

"Come on, tell me-" he touched my arm, right where my scars were aching, and I yelped.

"Don't touch me!" I hissed. His frown deepened.

"Wow, you really are a crazy new boy, aren't you?" He asked. I looked down at my lap.

"I'm sorry" I whispered. It's my first day and I'm already making a reputation.

"So what's with the long hair? It looks girly on you" he said.

"I like long hair" I whispered.

The bell rang, signalling the end of lunch. I hurried over to my theatre class and I realized Darren was in that class.

"Hello, I'm Mr. Tompson. Go ahead and sit anywhere" the teacher told me. I looked around and saw there was only the floor. I sat in a corner and Darren sat next to me.

"Alright class, grab a partner and write a monologue putting yourself in their shoes" the teacher said.

"You're my partner" Darren demanded, and I nodded weakly. I was writing and wasn't paying attention to time when the teacher clapped his hands, signally for attention.

"Any volunteers to read? You don't have to if you don't want to" the teacher replied.

"I will volunteer!" Darren smiled.

I watched as Darren walked up to stand in front of the stage.

"I am Koda Baker, the craziest dude alive" he looked at me with a sharp gleam in his eye, "all I do on a daily basis is hurt myself, because nobody loves me" he paused for a dramatic effect, "I don't have a life aside from wishing I was dead" he looked towards the rest of the audience. "I'm Koda Baker, the craziest new kid in town."

He looked towards the teacher.

"Very well, Darren" Mr. Tompson said. My jaw dropped. Can he even do that? Does that even count as a monologue? I knew Darren is a jerk, but he's a bigger moron than I thought.
