Chapter 4 Lucas's Sacrifice

Katie's POV

Soon as his lips closed over mine i lost all control. My hands running through his hair pulling him even closer while he deepened the kiss. The feel of his lips against mine has me purring. Our scents mixing in the air around us is driving me wild. Tingles of pure lust running through my body all the way to my core. I can clearly tell he's feeling the lust as much as me. He pulls away far enough to look into my eyes. All my attention is centered on him, as if it were only us.

Oh gosh i forgot we were in he middle of dancing people. Glancing around i notice they aren't dancing anymore, instead they are staring at us.

My pack starts cheering and clapping. They all could feel that Lucas is my mate... Wait! Did i just think that! Yes! My demon wolf is agreeing with it so it must be true. Even if he is my mate i know he won't stay around once he figures out i'm half demon. Only my pack has ever backed me, but it's because they say it's in memory of my mother. Her family had always been in this pack; Now i'm the last of long line.

The Alpha from the Faded Shadow pack pushes through the crowd until he's standing right in front of us. Then all Hell broke lose... well figuratively speaking. "Alpha Katie if you accept Alpha Lucas as your mate it will bring all packs to WAR!" He shouted.

Oh no, well this is just great my mate is my biggest enemy. I pull out of Lucas's arms and take a step back away from him. My wolf is angry with me for doing this, but i can't be mates with the Alpha that's trying to go to war with me. The Red River pack Alpha, god how could i just loose all thoughts like this. I shake my head trying to think straight. I look up into his dark blue eyes; his body is obviously shaking as he tries to control himself. I can feel his wolf trying to get loose and claim me.

He closes his eyes for a second, when he opens them he's a bit calmer. "Katie, I won't be pushing into the Blue Stone pack anymore... If you accept me as your mate." Lucas says through a growl. He's beyond angry but not at me... I can't exactly tell who the anger is directed at but it almost feel as if it's directed at himself.

Lily runs over and takes my hand for support. I look over at her to see tears in her eyes. Her mind brushes against mine so i allow her entrance *"Katie you can't turn down your mate! Look at him! He wants you!"* She says. I just shake my head and block her back out of my mind.

I look around and notice the Alpha's of a few other packs have moved to the front of the group. It's tearing me up inside but what choice do i have?! When he finds out i'm half demon he'd leave me. Maybe it's better that we never even allow this to start.

I go into Alpha mode wiping all expression from my face "Alpha Lucas i think it's time you left" It's all i could get out. He just looks at me and says "No"

The Alpha's from the Faded Shadow Pack and Skull Pack both shift into their wolf forms; One on each side of Lucas. Lucas doesn't even spare them a glance, his eyes are only on me. The Alpha's from the Ookawa and Kumori packs are shaking but still in enough control to have not shifted yet. The four Alpha's and their packs are my allies. They are taking Lucas as a threat, but i can't really blame them much. The Red River pack have been attacking all the packs around here, not just mine.

A male that smells like Red River pack runs over to stand beside Lucas. "Andrew!!" Lily cries beside me.... Oh the wolf gods are really being cruel tonight. Lily's mate in the Red River's Beta.

Andrew looks over at Lily with a painful expression "I'm sorry Lily-" thats all he got out before he shifted and jumped at the wolf that had lunged at him. Lily shifted into her little blonde wolf and ran to help him. I opened my mind to my pack **"Randy, Greg, Arnold, Josh, Drew, and Tyler flank me now! Everyone else back off and don't join into the fight!"**

I felt six wolves behind me and i didn't need to turn to know it was my guys. I looked back over to where Lucas was. He had shifted already and was fighting off four Alpha's. Lucas was bigger than all of the other Alphas were, he was as black as me as well. Some members of the Alpha's packs were attacking Lucas's Beta Andrew. Lily was right beside her mate and was helping him keep the wolves away; there was about ten of them.

I look back to Lucas he wasn't attacking back. He was keeping the wolves back but seemed to be going out of his way not to hurt them. One of the Alpha's bit him in the back of the leg making Lucas growl in pain a little. My vision went red and i wanted to kill that Alpha for hurting my mate. I shifted into my wolf form, i didn't need to look at myself to know i was scary. I was almost as big as Lucas, all black, and my eyes were blood red. I pulled back my lips and snarled at the wolves that were surrounding Lily and Andrew. They turned and looked at me; Most layed down and rolled over showing me their bellies. The few that didn't still lowered themselves with their tails between their legs.

I opened my mind to them and shouted **"GET BACK AND GO LAY DOWN AT THE EDGE OF THE WOODS! DON'T GET UP UNTIL YOUR ALPHA CALLS YOU TO LEAVE! IF YOU TRY AND GET INTO THIS FIGHT AGAIN YOU WILL BE DEALING WITH ME"** They all took off towards the woods as fast as they could. Lily was looking at me with a wolfish grin on her face while Andrew looked extremely confused. Normal Alpha's can't talk mind to mind to wolves in other packs and they can't boss them around like i just did.

I shrugged my shoulders at Andrew and walked over to where the Alpha's were still trying to attack Lucas. I felt the demon in me getting angry and i did nothing to calm it down. I couldn't boss other Alpha's around so it looked like i was going to do this the hard way. I jumped into the middle of the fight and took my place beside Lucas. The Alpha's around him stood still not really sure if they should continue fighting or not. When Lucas looked over at me i expected to see fear or disgust like i usually get when people see me in wolf form. Lucas looked me all over then leaned over and licked my muzzle. I yelped in surprise, i really wasn't expecting that.

Lucas shifted back into human form and i couldn't help but check him all out. He was pure muscle, head to toes. I forced myself to look away before i start drooling.

"Katie is my mate and i will not give her up" He growled out to the Alpha's around us. The Alpha from Ookawa shifted back and says "It will bring war if you and Alpha Katie join together. Red River pack is to aggressive to join with the Blue Stone pack. The allies of the Blue Stone pack can not back this choice." then he looks at me "Alpha Katie, the Red River pack has been our enemies for years now. If you join his as mates then he gets control over both packs. He will wipe out the rest of the packs around here! Red River pack has already taken out three packs around here" he says

The rest of the Alpha's around us have all shifted back to human forms; Leaving me the only one in wolf form.

What am i supposed to do? Lucas is my mate i can't just ignore him.

Lucas steps forward and says something i never thought i would hear from him "I Alpha Lucas turn over the pack to my Beta Andrew. In doing this i give up my tittle as Alpha. The Red River Pack Alpha is now Andrew Forest."
