The Summoning
The door closed behind them with a soft, hollow echo.

For a moment, the room was still.
Sabine turned slightly, and for the briefest instant, it looked as though the shadows near the doorway folded inward-as if something had slipped through them rather than walked.

She quickly reached into the inner pocket of her cloak and stowed the Abyssal Fragment.

The Order's fragment was small-no larger than a polished gemstone-but it glowed with a strange, unsettling light. Not bright. Not dark. A deep, bioluminescent purple, like midnight given form. It wasn't merely an object. It was bound.

Whoever carried it did not simply travel with the Abyss.

They traveled through it.
"That was... horrible," Anmy said quietly, hugging her arms. "When we were in the shadow before transporting, I felt this... tingling. Then these goosebumps, like-like something was watching me."
She tried to laugh it off, but Sabine saw the fear in her eyes.

"I think," Andromeda said slowly, "that I'm going to invent a way to travel without going through that place. The Keepers were right. The Abyss isn't just a path. It's... aware."
Sabine nodded.

She hadn't felt the fear the same way.
That disturbed her more than anything.
Later That Evening
Andromeda returned to her studies, her mind already racing. A new class was starting soon-one filled with students she didn't know-but she couldn't stop thinking about the Abyss, about the way it felt like something ancient had brushed against her thoughts.

She checked the time.
It had only just begun.

Sabine's Room
Sabine was tidying her quarters when she noticed it.
A pressure change.
A presence.

From the corner of her eye, her Storm Atronach stood near the far wall, its body faintly crackling with restrained lightning.

She hadn't summoned it.
It stood unnaturally still.
"It's staring at me," she murmured. "Waiting for instructions..."
Then the shadows behind it moved.
A figure stepped forward as though peeling herself out of darkness.
Mis Fellencoth.

Her long robes whispered against the floor, her eyes reflecting light that wasn't there.

The Storm Atronach turned immediately, its stone-and-lightning form shifting into a defensive posture, its arms lowering like living towers.

Mis Fellencoth smiled faintly.
"So loyal," she said. "Even without being told."
Sabine's hand drifted toward her focus crystal. "You didn't announce yourself."
"No," Mis said softly. "I rarely do."

The Offer

Mis Fellencoth walked slowly around the room, her fingers trailing along the air as though touching invisible threads.
"You have no idea who you are, do you?" she said.
Sabine stiffened. "I know exactly who I am."
Mis chuckled. "You know who you were told you are."
She turned and looked directly at Sabine.
"My benefactor wishes to meet you."
"I'm not interested."
"You should be."
"No," Sabine said firmly. "I'm done being used by the Order. I'm done being moved like a piece on a board."
Mis's eyes darkened slightly.

"You carry something very old inside you," she said. "Something that was placed there when your parents died.

When the Order's soul was transferred into you."
Sabine's breath caught.
"That's not true."

"You don't remember," Mis said gently. "But you will."
She stepped closer.

"There is a dragon," Mis continued, "killed more than ten thousand years ago. My benefactor intends to wake it. And you are the key."
Sabine backed away.
"No."

The Betrayal
Mis sighed.

"I was hoping you'd come willingly."
She raised her hand.
The air snapped.
Runes flared.
Invisible chains wrapped around Sabine's body, slamming her to her knees.
The Storm Atronach roared and surged forward-
"Sicuria Devitotum"

The word froze reality itself.
The Atronach stopped mid-step, lightning locked in crystal stillness, its entire form frozen like a statue caught in a storm.
"No!" Sabine cried, struggling against the spell.

Mis Fellencoth approached and knelt in front of her.
"Sleep," she whispered.
Darkness folded in.
And Sabine was gone.
After
The room remained silent.

Andromeda Finds the Atronach
Andromeda felt something wrong the moment she reached the corridor.
The Storm Atronach was standing there.
Frozen.

Unmoving.

She ran to it and touched the air around it, feeling the Simagi spell humming like locked time.
"What did they do to you...?" she whispered.

She broke the spell.
The Atronach's lightning surged back into motion.

And for the first time...
It tried to speak.
But could not.

The Invention
That night, Andromeda didn't sleep.
She worked.

She designed something new.
A medallion.

In its center: a Soul Gem.
Not to trap.

Not to bind.

But to translate.

A bridge between summoned minds and human thought.
When she activated it and placed it near the Storm Atronach, its voice finally came through-not in words, but in meaning.
Fear.

Loss.

Direction.

Sabine had been taken.
And now Andromeda knew:
She would have to chase the Abyss itself to get her back.
