Two days later, on Monday afternoon, Yukiko ran into Ortho on the school's main street after school. They hadn't seen each other since the anemones incident, so they caught up on everything that had happened over those days.

"Huh? Mr. Yuu Oshiro got a job at the Monster Lounge?!" the little android exclaimed excitedly after hearing the news. "Congratulations! I'll look for him later to congratulate him in person."

Yukiko laughed, moved by her little friend's enthusiasm. "Thank you! He had considered looking for a part-time job more than once, but with exams and fear of being rejected for any reason, he ended up abandoning the idea. And finally, this opportunity came, and he accepted it."

"I must admit I'm surprised: until just a few days ago, you were basically enemies with Mr. Azul Ashengrotto, but now you're working together. I'm happy about the news, but doesn't it sound a bit suspicious?"

"Believe me, he surprised us, too. But in the end, it wasn't all that bad, I think."

She recounted everything that had happened that afternoon in the VIP Room to summarize it for him, starting with Azul's sudden proposal.

"Tell me, Yuu Oshiro: how would you feel about working with us at the Mostro Lounge?"

After processing that question, Yuu gasped almost inaudibly. Yukiko mimicked him, and Grim raised his paws in astonishment to squeal, "Whaaaat?!"

Yuu tried to control the stuttering caused by the surprise and confusion at the sudden proposal. Azul had originally planned to reduce him to an anemone and force him to work under her if she lost, but now she was formally giving him the option.

"Work for you at the Mostro Lounge? What do you mean?"

Azul chuckled at his confusion. "Exactly what it sounds like." If you had failed to fulfill the contract, you'd be an anemone working for me by now, of course." Grim and the twins shuddered at that straightforward statement. "However, that never happened, and now I'm offering you a legitimate job with which you'll receive a salary."

"You did an excellent job waiting tables the other day, despite the rush and the fact that you joined unexpectedly," Jade explained, sharing her observations. "You also gave instructions to Mr. Jack, Ace, and Deuce and divided the duties according to their abilities. This leads me to assume you already have previous experience as a waiter, right?"

Yuu swallowed and took a breath to calm himself a little; he had a feeling this conversation was going to turn into a possible job interview.

"Yes, Yukiko and I used to work part-time at a restaurant owned by a friend of our mother's. She offered us a job there after seeing how efficient we were helping out at the daycare center where she works," Yuu replied with all the firmness her anxious voice allowed.

Yukiko was still confused, but nodded anyway to confirm her brother's words.

Without taking his eyes off him, Azul placed a hand on his chin and nodded as if approving of what he just heard. "Interesting. And what about your cooking skills? Would you be able to cover someone's shift by preparing orders?"

"Of course you would! Yuu's cooking is to die for!" Grim squealed, grinning from ear to ear. "Even Leona liked it when we stayed in Savanaclaw, you know."

Yukiko roughly covered his snout, afraid he would ruin whatever was going on. "The question was for Yuu!" she scolded through gritted teeth.

Although Grim's intervention wasn't meant badly, Yuu tensed and tried not to look down at the floor and show insecurity. In these kinds of situations, it was best to be as honest as possible: "I'm good at cooking, but I've never done it professionally, so I wouldn't say my skills are up to par," he confessed, careful with his choice of words.
