*BEEP*BEEP*BEEP*
God! Why are alarms so annoying? I groaned and flailed my arm out, hand searching for my phone. I turned off the alarm and begrudgingly dragged my lazy-ass out of a very, very comfortable bed (sigh). I walked to the dresser and pulled out black boxers and skinny jeans, then sidled over to the closet where I chose a gray flannel with electric blue stripes. I entered the bathroom and took a look of myself in the mirror, my brunette fringe was flopped down over one of my chocalate brown eyes. Deciding I looked absolutely ridiculous staring at myself I stripped down and took a shower. The splash of water woke me up a bit more, when I was finished I turned off the water and grabbed the towel I hung up on the side. I dried off in the steamy bathroom and slipped into my attire, feeling childish I left a tracing of a smiley face on the mirror. I walked out finally feeling my nerves getting the best of me, I gulped down my fear and grabbed my map walking towards the cafeteria where I would get breakfast. I shuddered at the thought of my first introduction to the cafeteria food, I swear it moved! I rounded the corner and was greeted with a struggling Becca, she had a lot of books in her hands and was barely keeping her legs from buckling underneath her."There you are! Come here and grab these will you!" she called. I jogged towards her and held out my arms, she dumped a third of the stack into my waiting arms.
"The Headmaster forgot to give you these they're your books for your many different subjects. You'll need a place to put those, lay them on the ground really quick. Okay now give me your schedule," I kindly obliged and handed the slip of paper to her. She ran her eyes over it and then handed it back.
"Okay. So follow me I'm going to show you to your locker," I picked up the books and began straggling behind Becca for what seemed like forever until she stopped in front of one of lockers and opened it. She began taking books from my hands and slipped them inside the locker neatly.
"Okay, so you'll learn to make a lock later from your mentor but for now don't leave anything valuable inside your locker."
"Wait I'm going to make a lock? What does that mean?"
"Well because all the students her are magical regular locks won't do, there to easy to break into. So we manifest our magic into a special lock that only opens for the owner of the locker."
"Geez, this school is so weird."
"Out of all the things here. Not the magical beings, not the giant ass hidden school for said magical beings, but a fucking lock is what you pick out of the hat of oddballs?"
"Yes?"
"(Sigh) Whatever lets just get to the cafeteria and eat breakfast," she said. Walking back the way we came we entered the cafeteria and picked our selections of food. Not really trustful of the food choices I grabbed an apple and some grapes. Becca picked out the main meal of two buttered waffles no syrup and a carton of milk. She lead me to the table and we began to eat in relative silence, that is until the rest of our table buddies showed up. They were in a heated discussion.
"He doesn't teach us anything! But he still expects us to pull the information from some unknown source when a huge test rolls around!"
"My teacher does the same thing, if anyone has any questions they're told to look back at the nonexistent notes we never wrote down."
I giggled at the huffy expressions that were on their faces when they plopped down into their respective seats. I looked on as their conversation continued occasionally giving input and laughing when someone said something funny. All too early the bell rang signaling that breakfast was over and we had to head to homeroom.
"Ready for your first day?" Allyson asked pushing in her chair.
"A little I'm not too prepared as you've probably noticed."
