So before we begin and head into the story which I have failed in regularly updating apologies, then again what else were we expecting •~•. I am updating as of now because I am comfortable in my new classes in highschool enough that I have time for this, also another little tid bit I am taking Creative Writing as one of my classes so if word choices were bothering you the quality of thus story will get better. Sorry to have taken so long to update and without further a do I present you the next installation in Descendants Of Magic.
____________________________________________________________________Anticipation and anxiety were killing I've been waiting a whole week and training shit tons on my part, but nerves were still getting to me as I prepared myself listening for my name to be called. Currently I was seated on a bench with other contestants waiting same as me, a tense silence hung over all of us, our fate would be determined by the task ahead. The drab clothing I was wearing was mandatory because of this restriction and that rule blah, blah, blah. It was a dark black skin tight suit with a highlight color that matched the element at the contestants disposal, mine being white for light. Some others had purple for electricity, red for fire, blue for water, yellow for wind, brown for rock, you know colors that likely be understood. The flat screens hung up on the walls were currently broadcasting the match between a girl with the element of wind and a guy with the element of water. The girl was doing spectacular manipulating both the wind and water with the guy running for cover. I put my head between my knees another wave of anxiety crawling under my skin.
"Hey you okay there you look a bit well uh kinda wrecked?"
"Hmm oh yeah I'm good just nerves you know everyone looks so powerful out there, I'm having a tough time convincing myself that I'll do fine."
"Well based on your element there it seems you'll be giving us quite a show," that's when I looked up. The boy in front of me looked built like a god damn rock it looked like the suit was struggling to even contain all the muscle. His head was decorated with medium length brown hair, his face chiseled with brown eyes and full lips. His suit color deemed his element was... well it didn't have a color it was just pure black.
"Yeah. I guess you will be too I haven't seen a jet black suit before?"
He gave a hearty chuckle before answering."Is it that hard to figure out? If you have the light element someone is bound to have a shadow element."
"Shadow? I haven't heard of it before, is it rare like the light element?"
"Its not as rare as the light element being there are seven people with it and only two known light users."
"Interesting. I'm sorry where are my manners, what is your name I'm Josh by the way."
"Well Josh, I'm Robert and its been a pleasure talking to you but you'll have to hold on their picking the next pair to go up," I looked to the television, the selection process looked like a slot machine with pictures of the contestant and a name under the picture. It spun fast so you couldn't tell who was going up until it slowed down to halt. Except this time it was different four contestants were being picked together instead of the usual two, the intended result now was to put us in teams. A red team name was picked Anastasia Watakaski, then the blue side started to slow down, Robert Taranos. I looked over to him seeing a still cool expression on his face, it went back to the red team Antoni Grenaldi, and finally moved back to blue, Joshua Reyes. Oh shit.
"Well at least we got to know each other a bit before the battle. Don't worry you'll do fine wipe that face off," I stayed silent I couldn't help it this seemed almost too perfect no awkward introductions to an unknown person. It almost seems to good to be true. Hmm? We walked out of the locker room with the opposite team they seemed nice enough and we wished each other luck. Nothing like encouraging others to demolish you in a heated battle for a spot in a top team. The arena was gigantic and bare nothing to hide behind, nothing to use except your own skill. The idea of the battle was simple, you have a set amount of life or times you can get hit all totaled in a percentage. Sensors in the suit would detect where you got hit and the severity of the blow and determine a percentage to take away. When a contestant hit zero the battle is over for them and they get sent word of groups that want them to join their team after all the battles have taken place.
