Frank Zhang

I've been here for so many dam days, and still the popularity hasn't worn off. The students all think that I'm a big- shot jock, but I'm just clumsy, little Fai Zhang. The girls are all fawning over me, and trying to get me to go out with them, but I tell them every time that I have Hazel. She's all I ever need.

Anyway, this morning there has been an emergency assembly called in the hall. What's it about? I walk into the hall with my jock 'friends' to see fourteen unexpected faces standing up on the stage. What in Hades are they doing here? They're gods! They shouldn't be going around to schools like mere mortals!

"Settle down, settle down!" Mrs. Anderson, the principal, called. "Today children, we have the Greek gods to give us some first- hand knowledge on the wars they have just had. Please welcome Athena, goddess of wisdom and warfare."

"I know you may be wondering why us gods are here," Minerva, wait, Athena starts, "And why us gods would come to talk with mere mortals like yourself. See, many of our warriors have died, and those who fought do not wish to speak with you about it. The enemy is dead, and who is left to speak? Us gods, that's who. We are going around to every school in the area to speak with the children. Today, we will be speaking with you about the Prophecy of the Seven, and the war against Gaea." Athena looked at me with her sharp, piercing eyes. Those eyes sure are scary- kind of like they are calculating your death.

Juno, wait, no! Hera comes forward and starts speaking. "The names of these heroes were Peter Johnson, Anniebell Chook, Jasper Gordon, Poppy McQueen, Lucas Voldemort, Holly Law and Fred Zach. It all started with an exchange, an exchange of leaders. In this case, the leaders of two enemies, the Roman and Greek camps. Peter Johnson, the Greek, and Jasper Gordon, the Roman..." I have great respect for the queen of the gods, but not wanting to recount what life was like, I zoned out. That was until I heard my name. I gave a little start, and asked the teacher to go to the bathroom because I felt 'sick'.

I stayed as long as I could without arousing too much suspicion, and walked in just as Poseidon was talking about Percy and Annabeth falling into Tartarus. At this, a tear slid down his face.

"Nine days. That was how long it took them to fall into Tartarus. They stayed together the whole way, never giving up hope on life..."

Towards the end, many students were putting up their hands to ask questions. I put mine up too, just so people didn't get curious. My father, Mars/ Ares, points at me with a sort of creepy grin at his face.

"You. That person there," he calls.

I blurt out the first question I think of, "What happened to all the couples? Are they still together? Cassiopeia and Lucas; Peter and Anniebell; Jasper and Poppy; Holly and Fr- Fred?" I knew the answer of course, yes we had all stayed together.

In Ancient Greek- I would prefer Ancient Roman- History, the teacher was asking questions about what the war had been like.

"The war was terrible. Many of these warriors died, and many were permanently injured. However, I have a question for you with no right or wrong answer. In your opinion, who out of the seven do you think was the bravest?" the teacher asks. I put my hand up. "Frank?"

"Personally," I say, "I think the bravest of them all was Peter. Each one of them was amazing. Like Poppy took on a snow goddess with no help; Lucas sacrificed himself to stop the Earth itself; Holly learnt how to use the mist in little time; Anniebell went on a solo mission to save her mother's statue; Jasper fights venti with no memory; Fred... well he turned into an iguana to solve Chinese handcuffs; and Peter? Well he fell into Tartarus for Anniebell took a gamble with gorgon poison and so much more. He's loyal, and kind, and so genuine. He is a hero for me." Wow that turned out to be quite personal.

"You named great accomplishments for each of them, but you only said the handcuffs for Fred. Why?"

"Fred, well he's just Fred..."

"I would say that he's done a lot more than that. Fred used his own lifeline to set Thanatos free, took on the katoblepones alone, became Praetor and could change form at whim. If that's not brave I don't know what is." I don't like all this attention, even if they don't know it's me.

I walk into P.E. to find a short little man standing at the front of the room. He seemed strangely familiar.

"Listen up, cupcakes! Your teacher couldn't make it in today, so I'm your substitute."

Oh, gods! It's coach Hedge.

"My name is coach Bat," Why is he, oh. He doesn't want to give away who he is. "For some reason, today I feel like doing a little bit of sword fighting. I know it's not technically P.E, but I feel like doing it. So, who would like to demonstrate? Um, Zhang and Toms. They're your names right?"

I walk up to the rack of weapons along the wall. There's a stone Spatha, so I grab that one- not the Greek styled ones. I can't fight with those ones.

I face my partner, and in about two seconds flat, I disarm him.

"Very good, Zhang! May I have a word with you over here while everyone else gets into pairs and spars between themselves?" Coach asks.

"Uh, yeah, sure," I reply. I walk over to find coach with a sour look on his face.

"We have a slight, not really small problem."

"What's happened?"

"Well, Annabeth's been kidnapped and Percy can't get over it."

"Annabeth? How?"

"Some guy smacked her over the head with a fire extinguisher. That cupcake Nico tried saving her but something went amiss. I need you to come with me."

"Okay. Let's go."

Hi guys. I have a serious case of writers block right now, so sorry if the book is turning out a bit crappy.
Is it possible to have a new life and send this one to Tartarus?

I know the gods probably wouldn't turn up like that, but I kind of needed a new idea. Shoutout to the person who gave me the idea- I can't remember who it was.
