Ariana's POV
I sat there, waiting for Mr. Payne, the math teacher, to walk in and start class. The door suddenly swung open and in strolled Mr. Payne, looking all casual and calm, despite his admirers in the corner of the room whispering about him. He looked at us all individually and slowly, then he cleared his throat.
"Alright. Today, we have a new student joining us. His name is Niall Horan and I'm sure you'll all be nice to him?" Mr. Payne smiled as a boy with blonde-brown hair walked in. Glasses sitting on the bridge of his nose, revealing two blue eyes. He looked at me and smiled. His black jumper was loose on him and his jeans hugged his hips. I couldn't help but drool. This guy was irresistible!
"This isn't Kindergarten, Mr. Payne!" Harry yelled, disrupting the silence. I looked over at Harry and Louis who were laughing in their seats. Those two idiots were the school bullies. People only liked them because they were 'hot' and because they were scared they'd be hit. In my opinion, they looked like shit dressed in garbage bags. The other girls, and some guys, didn't agree with that.
Without my realizing until he spoke, Niall took a seat next to me. He tapped my arm gently. It sent a shiver of enjoyment through my whole body. I turned my head towards him. "Yeah?" I whispered so the teacher wouldn't hear.
"Could you, by any chance, show me around later?" He asked, his blue eyes shining like diamonds. I nodded my head and turned to copy some notes down. I couldn't help but smiled to myself. I mean, if a hot guy just asked you to show him around, would you refuse? Hey, it may be school but I'm not going to miss an opportunity just like this.
After math, we had lunch. Niall told me he'd catch up with me but he's been gone for ages now... I hope Harry and Louis had not run into him.
Niall's POV
I just told Ariana I'd catch up with her, but I'm sort of lost. I didn't want to ask anyone for help, though. I'm the new guy, this might ruin my reputation. And it might make Ariana embarrassed around me. I knew I just met her but when I walked into the room, she was like an angel created by only the finest goddess.
Her beautiful, flawless skin and her round, light brown eyes. And her hair brown, straight hair which ended above her hips. That beautiful smile that could light up the darkest room. Her average, yet beautiful, structure just made me like her even more. She was beautiful and no one could deny that.
All of a sudden, two boys stepped in front of me; evil smirks plastered on their faces. One boy was tall and had messy, curly brown hair. He had green eyes with a tint of light brown. He looked like he had muscles and his skin was pale yet, not too pale. The other boy was only a bit shorter and had brown hair, too. His eyes were a sea green. He too looked strong.
"Hi there, guys." I chuckled nervously, scratching the back of my neck. Kind of a habit. I started to sweat. What did these guys want? Hopefully not trouble, although I did attend some karate lessons as a child. Well I'm fucked.
"Hey there, new guy. It seems as though you've caught the attention of every girl here. We're the center of attention." The tall guy growled.
"I don't want their attention, though. All I want is to be friends -" The shorter guy cut me off.
"Shut up," He snapped. "We want you to give us your lunch money." He held out a hand.
"But, I need this." I slightly pouted. I wasn't going to let them push me around like that.
"Damn it, just give us the damn money!" The taller guy yelled, stepping towards me. I flinched. I sighed and realized I wasn't going to win. I pulled my five pound note out of my jeans pocket and hesitantly gave it to them. I sighed once again and sadly looked at the smooth grass which was slightly moving due to the Summer breeze.
All of a sudden, I heard a familiar voice and looked up to see the girl from earlier run towards us. She looked pissed off and formed her fists into balls. "What do you think you're doing with Niall?" She growled, standing in front of me. She turned to me slightly. "What did they take from you?" She asked, anger clearly taking over.
"My lunch money...." I said in almost a whisper. This, surprisingly, seemed to piss her off more. Hey, it's just money, right? She growled and stared at the two of them.
"Give it back, you dicks!" She yelled, stepping closer to the both of them. Surprising both them and me.
"Fuck off, Ariana! This is none of your business!" The taller guy yelled. "Damn, you can be such a bitch." He muttered, turning his head away to avoid eye contact. I really hated the way they talked to her.
"I said give it back or I'll tell Mr. Payne that you, instead of studying for our test, went partying with whores! You too, Louis!" Ariana, I think that's her name, smirked and crossed her arms. The two boys sighed and the small one handed me the money back. I couldn't help but smirk too. I put the money in my pocket and watched the two boys walk off grumpily.
"Thanks. But you didn't have to do that, you know. I've dealt with bullies before and I learnt that I just have to stay calm and let them do whatever they want. Like hit me or take my money." I shrugged my shoulders slightly.
"Niall, you may think that's the easiest way to deal with them, but it's not. You can't let them win." Ariana said, placing one hand on my shoulder. I felt joy and happiness explode in me. Just a single touch; that's all it was. And it made me happy. I smiled at her and she smiled back.
I think this school would be okay for me.
