I heard the door slam behind me and the screaming had toned down so that gave me a sign that my mum had decided there was no point in chasing me down and just didn't give a shit about me anymore. I wouldn't say I really cared if my mum loved me or not, I cared more about if I would get away from all the kicks and punches she gave me often during my life since I was at least 4 years old. Well okay, I do care if my mum loves me or not but at the moment, that wasn't my biggest worry. My biggest worry was running away. I ran as fast as I could, stumbling over branches that covered the ground as they sliced up my worn black skinny jeans. I didn't even look behind me, just in case she was chasing me but I was afraid to look forward. Anything could be out there, especially the place I was running through, the woods. I had no friends to run to, only the place I felt safest. All I could do was look at my tired feet as they ran through the dry grass and crushed tiny twigs that had fallen from the trees above. The time was around 7 pm and the sun was just starting to set, making it hard to see through the lack of light. I felt like I'd been running forever, maybe hours, as my legs ached from running for so long but I was petrified of stopping. I had made the mistake of not taking a jacket with me from being so much in a hurry to leave, making me shiver from the cold air the night brought. I held my backpack close to my back and felt the frigid air freeze up the tears that had fallen down my cheeks. I tried my best to distract myself in the stress of the situation. My mind was lost in a wisp of a reverie when I ran into another figure about my size.

I blinked a few times and looked down at the figure I had accidentally fallen on. He's a bit shorter than me with fluffy kobicha brown-colored hair that covered his bright hazel eyes as though he was shy. His eyes had hints of golden sky and kind of sparkled in the last bits of sunlight the sky had left. There was designs of planets, stars, and comets that ran down his right temple and cheek, as though they were a tattoo, and a little golden crown placed on the side of his head. He wore this light grey jumper that covers the pale skin on his hands like paws of a bear and pastel caribbean green pants that wrap around his legs gently. His feet wore combat boots, an inch high heel with a sparkly gem placed on the front. The blue sword in his left hand was so tiny to match his personality, it didn't even fill me with daunt.

I just stared into his eyes for a second, brushing my raven-black fringe out of my eyes. It revealed the tears, bruises, cuts, and scars that lined my face. I sat up and moved away from the boy to give him the space I just had intruded. His eyes widened as he saw the condition I was in and I looked away from him. I took a deep breath, a mix of a sad and tired sigh, starting to push myself up to start running again. I felt him grab my wrist gently and I felt a mixture of butterflies and fear in my stomach as I looked at him. I heard a small mumble escape his lips, sounding like, "Wait, don't leave." A small smile formed on my lips as I let out another sigh.

"What is that? A creature has hurt you?" he spoke softly, placing his hand gently on my cheek. He rubbed his thumb across my cheek and my temple, making me wince slightly. His fingers were very cold, probably numb, caused by the chilling air as the sun faded away.

"I knew this planet wasn't perfect, something has hit your cheek to make it bleed and it has bruised up your temple and your left eye. How rude of it to do. You have not done a single thing wrong. You are only but a innocent human." I heard him say under his breath. He spoke so quietly, it was barely audible. My throat hurt badly from crying from before but I was able to ramble out a few things.

"Uh- s-so I'm sorry for running into y-you and I better g-get going and j-just-"

He placed his finger against my lips, signaling me to stop rambling. I felt a few tears fall down my cheeks and  the boy with the crown caught the tears in the palm of his hand. A little smile spread across his face and he placed his hands on my shoulders gently.
