Blood, the iron-like smell of it drifting to his nose, he knew where it was coming from, he wasn't stupid, he could feel it dripping down his arm, slowly, in an almost teasing manner. It wasn't just his arm, it was on the ground pooling below him, he didn't even remember what had happened, or why he was in the middle of the road.

All he remembered was a blinding light, and a loud ringing noise, and a loud crash.
Oh...right...
He let out a shaky sigh, opening his eyes, blinking a few times, the ground was hot from the day's heat, the blood underneath him sticky, it stuck to his hair in the most annoying of ways, he'd have to wash it later if he could, that's if he lives, he reminded himself.

He tried to lift an arm, only to wince immediately, seems its broken. Everything blurry, his glasses lay cracked beside him. He couldn't feel the difference of him being on the ground and him being loaded onto a stretcher, he couldn't see now, it was all slipping away.

He remembered the words of his brother, telling him that you should start worrying when things stopped hurting, he supposed he should start worrying now, everything was numb, he couldn't feel anything. Yet he was so calm, so very calm, not even worrying, not even scared. His breathing shallow, labored, it hurt, it burned to breathe.

It didn't take long to get to the hospital, but it was already too late. His breathing slowing, his heart barely moving, he let out the smallest of laughs, looking at the nurse beside him, giving her the sweetest of smiles he could muster, showing her he was scared, he knew it was coming, he knew it was too late, he knew that she knew this.

The nurse looked at him teary eyed, only to realize who exactly she was caring for, who was on the stretcher below her, who was dying right in front of her, and she could only frown, the tears falling faster, "Rey please...please, don't die on me," she knew it was hopeless, he was already too far gone, they hadn't gotten him away fast enough.

He hadn't truly realized who he was in the care of until she spoke, until the familiar voice fell over him, he would have kept fighting, he would have tried harder, if it wasn't so hard to breathe, his eye sight already gone, his feeling numb. With a final labored breath, he muttered something, not loud enough for anyone to hear, his last words unspoken.

He Flat lined.
