"How can I be twenty-five dollars off?" the accountant rubbed his temples as he looked at the Excel sheet in front of him, before glancing down at the ledger. His mousy brown hair was pulled over his light violet eyes as he looked at the paper longer, "I couldn't have messed up a number right?" he flipped through the numbers, and noticed something out of place. In fact, it probably wouldn't have even been in there if it wasn't for his brother. It was a small note, written in quick print handwriting, and it said the simple words, 'Take a break~'
Andrew removed the paper carefully and looked at the numbers underneath, before his mouth twitched slightly, "How did I not notice that earlier?" he muttered quietly to himself, before typing in the extra numbers and checking to see if the spreadsheet actually balanced. It did, and Andrew leaned back in his chair, printing the paper, then turning off his monitor. He was tired, exhausted really. He'd been working on that ledger for more than five hours straight, and he really should take a break, but the problem was that he had a deadline to complete, and he was going to finish it no matter what his brother thought he needed.
Andrew stood up, grabbed the ledger and printed excel sheets and walked out of his office, carefully locking the door so that no one could get inside without his key. He ran a hand through his hair and sighed, walking towards the door that read, "Kristoph Welcher, CEO". He carefully knocked on it, just in case the man was in a meeting or on the phone with some sort of deal.
He heard a sigh and a "Come In," in a heavily accented voice, which he knew to be Kristoph's. He opened the door of the office and walked in, shutting it quietly behind him, before walking to Kristoph's desk, and setting the ledger and papers down neatly, "Good Afternoon," he greeted.
Kristoph didn't even have to look up to know who it was, since he knew that voice fairly well. "Good Afternoon, are the ledgers and spreadsheets finished?" he asked, signing off on a paper and shoving it into a pile with the other signed documents.
Andrew nodded and watched him for a moment, "Yes sir, I checked over them multiple times, and everything balances, everything is accounted for," he informed, placing his hands behind his back as he spoke. He always sounded official for some reason, he supposed it was just the way he was taught to talk in college, but sometimes he was able to be a little more casual.
Kristoph looked up, setting his pen down, "No need to be so stiff, loosen up or you're going to sprain something," he yawned, and leaned back in his chair, "Plus we're equals anyway, just because I'm the CEO and you're my head accountant doesn't mean that we can't talk like normal people," he closed his eyes for a moment before letting out another sigh and sitting up.
Andrew loosened up a small amount before letting a small smile cross his usually straight face, "I suppose, though technically my position is beneath yours, I'm only an accountant, you own the business,"
Kristoph shrugged, "It still doesn't matter, we're all humans anyway, work positions don't matter when we die now do they?" he stood up, and stretched, before looking at, or actually down at, Andrew. "I have a question for you however," he muttered, crossing his arms and leaning against his desk. His face had a small amount of redness to it, not that it was noticeable.
Andrew raised a thin eyebrow, and glanced up at Kristoph, "What is it?" he questioned, not quite sure what Kristoph would ask in the first place. The two may be close but they didn't talk as much as either of them would like to.
Kristoph looked away for a moment, pretending to be looking at a painting on the wall, "Are you free anytime this week, for...dinner or maybe lunch?" he asked, the red on his face growing slightly more obvious.
Andrew immediately blushed slightly, "Uh...I think I'm free later tonight, Rey doesn't have anything planned other than video gaming and some house work, so...y-yeah I'm free," he tried to stop himself from speeding up his words like he usual did when flustered or nervous, and it worked to an extent.
