CHAPTER 20

ㅡI think we should wake her upㅡI heard a female voice I knew very well.

ㅡBetter not. What if she hits us?ㅡ Another familiar voice.

I kept my eyes closed to see how far they would go.

ㅡBut it will be worse if she finds out that some clueless girl is hitting on her husband so blatantly out there.

I got up, as if I had just been resurrected, and went straight for the door, without even waiting for Chris and Diana's explanation.

ㅡWhy don't you buy one for your girlfriend too? It'll only be ten dollars for the couple.ㅡ Once outside the cabin, I heard a man's voice a few meters away. And there they were: Erix and Zara. I didn't want to play the jealous one, but when I saw Zara's hands almost touching Erix's arm, I didn't hesitate to intervene.

ㅡOf course he’ll want itㅡI said, stepping between the two, causing Zara to abruptly move away. ㅡOh, I’m sorry, Zara of my heart, I didn’t see you.ㅡI placed my hand on my chest, dramatizing the words.

The seller and Erix stared at me, confused. I discreetly pinched Erix’s arm to get him to buy the ice cream quickly.

ㅡHere you goㅡsaid the seller, handing the two small containers of ice cream to Erix. ㅡThank you for your purchase.

Erix gave me one of the containers and nodded to the seller before we started walking back to the cabin, leaving Zara sulking behind.

ㅡLook, I didn’t call her, I’m sorryㅡErix interjected before I could say anything.

I sighed.

ㅡYou don't need to apologize, it's not your fault you're handsome and eye-catching.ㅡ I shrugged.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a small smile appear on his rosy lips.

ㅡSo I'm handsome?ㅡHe teased.

ㅡN-no, that's not what I meantㅡ I stammered, feeling my cheeks burn.

Erix grabbed me by the waist with his free hand, and suddenly I didn't know what it was like to breathe.

ㅡBut I heard that perfectlyㅡ he said. His voice was a little hoarse. Erix sealed our lips in a slightly cold kiss, from the spoonful of ice cream he had just eaten.

ㅡAww, how cute!ㅡ Diana's voice made us pull away, and then I could breathe again.

ㅡHey, Diana, you ruined their moment!ㅡ Chris scolded her. The two started arguing, and Erix took my hand and led me to a bench near a large lake. We sat down and ate our ice cream in silence.

ㅡDid you sleep well?ㅡhe asked, finishing his strawberry ice cream.

ㅡYesㅡ I replied. My eyes widened as I realized something. ㅡHow did I get to the cabin?

ㅡI carried you thereㅡhe said, as if it were the most normal thing in the universe.

I stared at him, and he didn't miss the opportunity to give me another quick kiss.

ㅡErix!ㅡ I scolded him, embarrassed.

ㅡWhat?ㅡhe laughed. ㅡYou were so cute sleeping that I didn't have the heart to wake you.

I couldn't say anything else, as I was busy putting the rest of the ice cream in my mouth, trying to hide the bright red I was turning into. When I threw the little jar in the trash can next to me, Erix wrapped me in his arms and placed a kiss on the top of my forehead. I closed my eyes, inhaling the wonderful scent of cologne on his shirt. I loved that feeling. Erix's hugs were so comforting and warmed my heart in an inexplicable way. I felt at home.

ㅡI love you, my Erix ZhangㅡI said, breaking the hug to look at him.

That seemed to catch Erix off guard, as he raised his eyebrows and swallowed hard. But a beautiful smile appeared, right after the surprised expression.

ㅡI love you too, my princess Fayeㅡ he said and gave me a quick kiss.

We were interrupted by Erix's cell phone ringing. Disheartened, he picked up his phone and answered the call.

ㅡWhat?

We returned to the camp, finding the classes already gathered. Mr. Williams gave us a disapproving look and began to speak. I couldn't pay attention to what he was saying, as I was quite busy analyzing the side of my boyfriend's face. Erix had a perfect aura to be a model.

Seeming to notice that I was staring at him, Erix gave a slight squeeze to my hand—which was intertwined with his—and gave a sideways smile.

ㅡFaye Chang!ㅡMr. Williams narrowed his eyes and adjusted his glasses on his nose.

Startled, I let go of Erix's hand.

ㅡYes, sir!ㅡI almost shouted.

ㅡYou will be with Zara.

I didn't even know what that meant, but I felt like crying.

ㅡBe with Zara where?ㅡI asked Erix, who was about to laugh at my slowness.

—In the cabin. She'll be your companion during the camp— he replied.

I opened my mouth slightly and turned to Zara. She was five meters away, looking at me as if I were to blame for being privileged to have her majestic presence in my humble territory.

Oh, great!

—...and Erix will stay with AdrianㅡMr. Williams finished.

Erix frowned instantly. It was my turn to laugh at him. I think this camp will be so much fun.

I went back to my room after spending some more time with Erix and took a shower. I ran into Zara when I got out of the shower.

ㅡTsk tsk tskㅡI clicked my tongue, ㅡthose teenagers.

I went back into the room and started to get bored. Dinner was at seven o'clock and it was only five fifty.

I lay down on the bed and stared at the ceiling, waiting for something interesting to do.

ㅡWaitㅡ I sat up in bed.ㅡI have a boyfriend.

I grabbed my phone and texted Erix, asking what he was doing. Of course I was going to bother him. That's what boyfriends are for, right?

Minutes later, Erix replied, telling me to get out of the cabin. I ran to him and he gave me a warm hug. That hug I loved.

ㅡBored?ㅡhe asked.

Smiling, I replied:

ㅡNot anymore.
