Who knows what happens when a game starts to glitch? If you were a normal person, it would mean the game was broken and you'd have to get a new one. But if you were Patrick Pines, it would likely come to life and try to kill you. It had happened twice, and he really didn't want to have to deal with it a third time. But life doesn't always work out the way you want it to. Some days start like any other and feel peaceful, but change in a heartbeat. And Patrick knew this when he was told to see Veronica.

Patrick walked into Grunkle Stan's office and saw his grandmother standing at the desk, talking on the phone. Even before he opened the door, he could hear the conversation. "I don't care if I'm no longer the Director!" Veronica shouted into the phone. "I want that game out of Gravity Falls, and I want it done by the end of the day!"

And with that, she slammed the phone down into the receiver. It was bad enough she had to call a multiple-billion-dollar company to get their shit together, but to do it without the US government backing her up made it damn near impossible. Luckily, she still had dirt on them.

"You okay, Grandma?" Patrick asked, looking at the old woman with concern. Few things got Veronica this mad, and by the sound of it, whatever it was that she was calling about had to be important.

"Yeah, baby, I'm just...I'm just dealing with an old problem," Veronica said, leaning on the deck. She looked at her beloved grandson, sighing, knowing he would be needed to resolve her problem. "I've got something that I need you to take care of. It's a job that I would have done myself, but I'm afraid that I'm not the same young woman I used to be."

"Yeah, of course I'll help," Patrick said, eager to help his grandmother. He had nothing to do since Wendy was on a family camping trip and the twins were doing their own thing. "I'm free all day."

"Thank you," Veronica said, smiling before her expression turned serious again. "So, I'm sure you've heard of a company called Hinobi, right?"

"Who hasn't?" Patrick said with a smile. "They're like the single biggest gaming company in the world! Almost every video game product is made by them." He owned a Hinobi console, which played games from both the Xbox and PlayStation platforms.

"Well, did you know that their consoles tend to bring entities from a video game into the real world?" Veronica asked. From the way that Patrick's eyes widened in shock and confusion, she got her answer. "And it just so happens that almost every employee that Hinobi has is also an agent with specialized training and tools that let them combat and contain these entities. The Glitch Techs, as they call themselves."

'Well,' Patrick thought to himself, 'that I certainly didn't know.' But that's when something crossed his mind. "Wait, I've got a Hinobi console at home. How come I've never seen them?" Patrick asked, his grandmother's face a look of confusion.

"Likely, your console never glitched, or you did," said Veronica. "But your mind was then wiped every time you witnessed something you weren't supposed to."

"Great," Patrick growled, crossed with a glare on his face. "Just like the Society of the Blind Eye." If it were true and his mind had been wiped, it would greatly anger him. It pissed him off so much to think that something like that happened to him, especially when he saw the damage that mind wiping led to the destruction of Fiddleford's life. How would they have gotten the technology to do that? Did they steal it from the man? Did they independently develop the same technology?
