Another day at the Mystery Shack meant another adventure for the kids and employees that worked their butts off to make Stan Pines more money. For Patrick, it meant that he could finally relax after having his insane adventure in the far future. However, for the owner of the tourist attraction, today was anything but a day for resting. There was something important that he needed to talk to everyone about. So, with the exception of Soos, he called everyone for a meeting in his office.
The only ones waiting in the office were Wendy and Stan. Then came the final people they were waiting for—Patrick, Mabel, and Dipper.
"Ugh, finally! Now close the door," Stan said, pointing to the door.
"Yeah, close the door!" Mabel said to Patrick.
"Just sit down," he snapped. Patrick then used his foot to slam the door.
He walked over to stand next to Wendy, giving his girlfriend a smile that she returned before Stan started to speak to all of them.
"Alright, can it, you knuckleheads, and listen up," Stan said, crossing his arms and began pacing to the left and right. Next to his desk was an easel with a large notepad on it. "I'm in a bit of a situation, and I need all of you to help me out. It's a problem involving Soos."
This made everyone in the room gasp in shock.
"Stan, are you...firing Soos," Mabel asked in horror.
"What? No!" Stan exclaimed. "I wish it were that simple. Make my job a lot easier."
Dipper, confused by what could have Stan in this predicament, asked, "So...what's going on with Soos?"
Stan took in a breath and exhaled it in a sigh, ready to explain what was going on with him. "Alright, so, as we all know, Soos hates his birthday," Stan said, flipping the page on the easel to reveal the words Soos' Birthday that's been exited out. "That being said, tomorrow is his hired day."
"Highered day?" Mabel repeated. "Is that when he got super tall?"
"Not Highed, Mabel. Hired, as in the day that Soos got hired by Stan," Wendy said, smiling with her arms crossed.
"Thanks, Wendy, for stealing my exposition. So, yeah, ten years ago, I hired Soos, and...well..." Stan came to a stop in his sentence, averting his eyes from the group. "I was planning on getting him something nice."
"Aw~" Patrick smirked. "You do care."
"Shut it, wise guy! I'm just grateful to him," Stan exclaimed, crossing his arms with a glare. "You know, for not turning me into the IRS or police or whatever! I've been trying to think of something to get him, but nothing really stood out. Has anybody gotten him anything yet?"
Wendy said, "No."
Stan sighed. "Why am I not surprised?" He couldn't blame them. This was the first time they were doing something like this.
Patrick raised his hand and then lowered it when Stan looked at him.
"So, you want us to come up with gift ideas for Soos," he asked. "You've known him for longer than we have. How could you not know anything about what he likes?"
"Hey! I don't go digging into your personal business, and you shouldn't either," Stan snapped. He then pulled out a marker. "Now, who actually wants to help out and give me some ideas?"
