Castiel climbed into Dean car, immediately regretting his decision. He'd rather listen to his brother have sex than this. Okay, never mind. He'd definitely did not want to hear that. Cas finally looked over at Dean. He was wearing his football jersey and Cas rolled his eyes.
"You know, I normally hate jocks and jocks normally hate me. So if you're wearing the jersey to try to impress me it won't work Freckles." Castiel said and Dean just scoffed and started driving.
"I just came from practice Cas." Dean said, shaking his head "If you want you can hand me my shirt from the back."
Castiel reached into the back, grabbing the grey t-shirt from the back. He gave it to Dean and watched as Dean took off his jersey and put on the shirt while they were stopped at a red light.
"So, you're not going to bring up the angel thing...?" Castiel asked after a little bit. Dean looked over at Cas and shook his head.
"I wasn't planning on it." Dean said and looked back at the road. Castiel was somewhat relieved but also confused. He never really understood humans. Cas would've thought Dean would be asking a bunch of questions. Then again, he does come from hunters. Dean could be angel hunters. His family has already had experience with angel hunters. It's how he lost his sister, Anna. If his family were to find out he was hanging out with a hunter they'd flip.
Castiel couldn't just straight up ask Dean if he was an angel hunter. He couldn't ask him if he wanted to kill him. He couldn't do any of that and he knew it.
"Why? Most humans would jump at the chance to ask angels questions wouldn't they?" Cas finally asked, confused.
Dean laughed "'Humans'?"
Castiel looked at Dean "What's so funny. You're a human. No?"
"It's funny when you're confused."
Castiel shrugged "It happens a lot. You humans confuse me." he sighed "Dean, where are we going?"
Cas looked over at Dean and smiled a little bit. He quickly looked away and into his lap. Stop Novak he said to himself. Castiel knew he shouldn't be hanging out with Dean. He was completely ignoring Sam's warnings. Oh well, too late now.
"To eat." Dean said simply. Castiel rolled his eyes and decided not to question it. They pulled up to a restaurant and Cas climbed out of the car. Dean walked up beside him and held his hand out.
"We're not dating Dean." Castiel said, looking down at Dean's hand.
"So." He said and shrugged, grabbing Castiel's hand and intertwining their fingers together. They started walking and went into the restaurant. They were both sat at a table and someone came to help them.
"Well hello Cassie." Castiel looked up at the familiar voice.
Cas sighed "Hello Michael."
Dean raised his eyebrows, looking at both of them. "You two know each other?"
Castiel nodded "This is my brother, Michael."
Michael looked at Dean "Hi. Cassie isn't a big fan of me."
"You kind of prove the 'angels are dicks' thing." Castiel mumbled under his breath.
"Cas you're an angel." Dean said
"Yeah well it's not like I asked to be." he said and stood up, walking out of the restaurant. Cas walked to the car, leaning up against it and sighed. He looked back at the restaurant and groaned when he saw Dean coming out of the restaurant.
"Cas? What's wrong?" Dean asked, walking to Cas
"He blames me." Michael said walking out of the restaurant "For our sister. She died by angel hunters because she was alone when I was supposed to be watching her."
Castiel looked at Michael "Shut up! It is your fault. You left her alone!" he shouted angrily. He walked forwards towards Michael angrily but Dean stopped him.
"Cas, stop." Dean said. Castiel stared blankly at behind Dean at Michael, tears brimming his eyes.
"Whatever." Cas said and turned around, beginning to walk home. He heard footsteps behind him, but didn't stop. He felt a hand on his shoulder that stopped him.
"Cas, wait. We're not done yet. At least let me finish what I had planned then you can go home." Cas sighed.
"Fine." he said turning around, seeing Michael had gone back inside. Dean smiled and tugged Castiel back to the car. They both climbed in and Dean started driving away to wherever he had planned.
