On the outskirts of a village, 19 year old Riza sat on the chair in the living room. Ever so beautiful, ivory skin, hair the color of a sunflower, and eyes so hazel they can pierce through a soul.

She choked in her tears, but a single one escaped when she flinched at the doorbell, she quickly wiped it off her red cheek, but her eyes already told what happened, they were of pinkish red color.

She opened the door and stood there, staring at a raven haired man's back

"Can I help you?" She said

The man turned around, seemingly in shock, he wasn't expecting to hear a female voice, he didn't mean to stare, but her eyes, if they were filled with joy instead of sorrow, would have been the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.

"Sir, are you okay?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Yes! Yes, ma'am, forgive me."

'DAMN IT ROY, YOU IDIOT'

"I am looking for Mr. ..."

She interrupted

"Are you Roy Mustang?" Her small smile disappeared

"Yes, ma'am." He answered tensely.

"He has been waiting all day for you, he thought you would be here a few hours ago..." She said as if demanding an explanation, which he gave her

"I am very sorry ma'am, but the train had to stop an extra hour in one of the towns"

"Come in..." She was so cold with him, how could she not be?

'Did I say something wrong? DAMN IT ROY, IDIOT!' He kept taunting himself.

"Have a seat, I will go call my father, he is in his study."

Roy sat down, he looked around, he thought it was a beautiful house, it seemed very cozy to him, he loved going into other people's homes and just, look around.

'Okay, Roy, don't ruin it with the father, too!'

As much as Riza was beautiful, she was just as smart and well disciplined, and very sensitive, but she was strong enough not to show that side in public, Roy was probably the only one who'd caught her on the edge of vulnerability, she gained balance though, how couldn't she?

Riza knocked on the door of her father's study, she opened it and simply said

"He's here." She went downstairs again, passing the raven haired man and without even looking at him she said

"He will be here in a minute."

"Yes, ma'am" Roy answered nervously.

Riza made her way to the kitchen to fix some tea, as customs are to serve tea to guests, or in this case, someone who is to live in their home for at least a few months

"Ah, you're finally here." Said a rough voiced man as he entered the room, Roy stood up to shake his hand

"Mr. Berthold Hawkeye.. I'm so sorry for being late but the train..." He got interrupted

"Yeah, yeah nevermind that, it's too late to start your studies today anyway so, Riza will have your room done by the time you finish dinner." He bluntly said.

"Sir, I must say I'm not feeling so hungry, and I don't want to trouble miss Hawkeye."

"Very well then... You can have your tea then rest in your room. Riza can show you around the house." And with that, Riza's father took his cup of tea and was off to his study.

'What a peculiar man!' Roy thought, taking a sip from his tea.

"Ma'am, I'm very sorry for the trouble I might be giving you."

"Stop referring to me as ma'am, I'm not older than you."

"I'm sorry, miss Hawkeye."

She looked at him with furrowed eyebrows.

She finished her tea same time he did, she stood up and he followed her, showing him around the house, she showed him the kitchen, the library, the bathroom

"The door might need a little push to close it, just letting you know." she said, pointing at the bathroom door. He nodded every time she showed him a room, and when they got to his room upstairs, he went in and put his luggage on the floor.

"If you need anything, you can always ask me, my room is the one next to you." Roy nodded.

"My father may seem like an abomination, but he doesn't mean to be one, not always at least."

"That's fine, miss, I'm not here to be pampered anyway." He smiled at her, she smiled back.

'Maybe he will bring some change into this house, just maybe!'

"I'm sorry for my choice of words earlier, I'm just not myself today" her smile slowly faded.

"No, miss, it's fine, barging in like this on you, and I didn't know he had a daughter, but he insisted on staying here, saying it would be easier for him..."

"Don't worry about that" she headed to the door "good night."

"Good night, miss."
