Chapter 1
The sun crept through the curtains, that covered my windows, into my tired eyes. As i carelessly rubbed them, I realized that none of my alarms went off and frantically got up taking little to no time fixing my hair and brushing my teeth. I'm not like one of those girls who are nestled in spending hours of their time doing their makeup and hair. If i was, you wouldn't be seeing me in this situation. I quickly got dressed into the most average pair of clothes. A plain black t-shirt with the words 'woke up like this' imprinted on it, sweatpants, and my favorite pair of converse. I honestly, don't care how i look at this moment as long as i'm at school on time.
"Mom, why didn't you wake me up?!" i yelled across my hallway. Of course, yet again, no response. Like any other normal day, my mom was at work and like the foolish girl i was, i kept calling out to a person who was never here in the morning.
Yet, every morning she manages to leave a packed lunch for me with a distinct yellow post it note stuck on to it. The message for today, notes: Have fun at school, don't forget to eat lunch.
Who actually has fun in school? In the four years of my high school life, i had never actually had fun. And to my own discomfort, i haven't made any friends aside from Chris and Cassie who stuck by till the end. I probably made more enemies than friends, which to my disappointment will never give up on rivalry. That's not really anyone's definition of fun, but then again i guess i would be one of those fortunate ones who has enough people i could trust and rely on and know that i will be cared for.
Sticking a bit of toasted bread in my mouth that i spent the last minute toasting, i ran out of the door, forgetting anything about breakfast. Hopefully, this one slice of bread would last me till lunch.
Right as i was about to get out, my face made contact with a familiar sound, who none other turns out to be Christopher Avery aka the boy next door. His hair was messy but in a good way. The long strands of blonde hair fell just above his forehead. If i wasn't just his childhood friend, i would have been making those love struck faces right now.
"What took you so long?" Chris yelled with a loud tone.
"Excuse me, i wouldn't have woken up so late if someone didn't take me to that party yesterday."
"Oh so now you blame it on the party?"
"No i blame it on you, its your fault i woke up late, your fault im grounded and your fault im talking to you instead of going to school."
That one face that never refuses to give up smiling suddenly grew sullen. I averted my gaze and apologized.
"Im sor--"
"No its alright, you're right its my fault." He answered almost immediately
"No i didn't mean it that way, i just--"
"Its alright, lets go. We don't want to be late. Im driving, get in the car"
I nodded without saying so much of a word and got in the car. The rest of the ride was just a quiet, pure silence. Not even the sound of music helped. Although Ed Sheeran was back with his latest song Photograph, nothing helped the discomfort of our silence. Usually by this time Chris would start singing along but i guess not today. I wonder if it was due to me or whatever happened last night. Sometimes i just say things without thinking about it. I wanted to apologize again but what good would that do. It's pointless now anyways, we are already at school.
It was at that time we were greeted by our long time friend Cassie who was patiently waiting for us by the premises of our school. Cassandra Rae, as her full name states, looked like how she always did with her wavy brown hair that fell just above her waist. She slowly walked towards us with a cheery smile on her face.
"Hey guys! What's with the long faces?"
"Its nothing" both me and Chris replied and as if my magic he returned back to the way he normally was. That sullen look was completely wiped out from his face. I feel as if whenever Cassie is here, he would always put up his best attitude. But then again she was that type of person to make anyone smile with just her presence. I guess you could say that's her special talent. I remember, when we first met in back in elementary school, i was rather lonely even back then so the comfort of having at least someone talk to me was a nice feeling. It was not later then Chris transferred to our school and we have been best buds ever since.

We made our way to the lockers, luckily me and Cassie had ours next to each other whilst Chris's was on the other hallway. I could hear people whispering about the party last night. I didn't know the news would fly by that quick. However, it was expected, after all this town is small and almost everyone knew each other. Even in our high school it was easier to recognize people who just seemed to stick out, since everyone was in their own cliques.
"So how was the party yesterday night? Heard you had a little too much fun." Cassie asked while giggling a little.
"Did the news about last night already spread?"
"Looks like it did" replied Cassie while turning me to what turns out to be my nightmare walking straight towards me. Ashley Forrest otherwise known as Ash by his peers almost looked too angry. Not that he always wasn't but i had it coming after what happened last night.
"Oh shit, hide me. Never mind i'll just be going to class, see you later Cass-"
"Wait right there Calamari" yelled Ashley. I was legit about to run at that moment, but with my small stature i knew he would catch up and it would make the situation worse. And to top it off he called me Calamari, the nerve of that guy. I turned around almost instinctively to that name.
"Don't call me that!"
"I can call you whatever I want! Do you realize i was made a laughingstock because of you!"
"What can I say, you deserved it. You deserved more then just a soda down your face"
His eyebrows furrowed almost immediately. His black hair covered his eyebrows which clearly revealed his stormy grey eyes. I had a feeling i was going to be dead in a second or two but as always Chris came at the right moments.
"Okay, that's enough you two, we will be heading over to class." Chris said while holding my shoulders and making me turn around the other way. Cassie nodded at Ashley and we all just left as if nothing ever happened.
I knew Ashley enough to know he would have been shouting back but somehow he was speechless for the moment. I turned around to notice his maddened face. I know I wouldn't get away with this the next time we cross paths, since we are enemies after all.

First story,
I know, I Know. Why on earth would i choose a name like Ashley for a guy?!
Well, last time I checked it can be a girls and a guys name. But it's really funny to see why and how the characters will be reacting towards the names.
Anyways, hope ya'll like it .
Lots of love!
