"Daddy! Daddy!" I felt a pair of tiny arms wrap around my leg as I stood with the boys in the airport. I looked down to see a pair of huge brown eyes staring up at me in admiration.
"Amy! Amy, come on honey that's not your daddy!" A young lady came rushing up and plucked the little blonde haired girl from the floor, "I'm so sorry!" She said breathlessly.
"It's fine, honestly!" I smiled back. she looked young, about the same age as me and the little girl looked about 2. They both hurried off and round the corner out of sight. Definitely not something that happens every day!
"Josh, you ready to go mate?" JJ asked, nudging my arm to snap me away from my thoughts. I nodded and followed him and the others to the queue.
We had decided to take a holiday, a lads trip to get away from it all for a while. After being on the X factor everything had gone pretty crazy, we had been working non stop so we thought we deserved a break. We checked in our bags and went through security. George and JJ went to get some food whilst Jaymi and Olly decided to have a look around the shops, leaving me in the boarding lounge, flicking through my phone aimlessly.
"Are these seats taken?" A sweet voice came from above me and my head whipped up to see the lady with the little girl from earlier, she smiled innocently at me, making me realise I had waited far too long to reply.
"No, not at all, help yourself." I replied, moving the boys' bags off the seats beside me. I felt I should have initiated some sort of conversation with this girl but she seemed somewhat distracted by searching for something in her bag and trying to stop the toddler from escaping all at the same time. Although she seemed to be struggling I have to say she was doing a wonderful job!
"Is there anything I can do to help?" I asked slowly, deciding that this is what one should do when faced with such a situation. The girl lifted her head slightly and tucked her coffee coloured hair behind her ear, the brown in her eyes was the same as that of the toddler but hers were ridden with desperation and exhaustion.
"No, I'm fine thank you," she smiled, "I will just never understand how they make boarding cards so damned easy to lose!"
I laughed a little before noticing that what looked like boarding cards were actually in her hand. I hesitated, unsure of how to approach this whilst causing minimal embarrassment to both parties.
"Err I think I may be able to help." I chuckled quietly, touching the piece of card in her hand. She smacked her head with the palm of her hand.
"What am I like?!" She laughed, "thank you!"
"You're welcome!" I chirped, just as I was trying to think of an interesting topic of conversation, she responded to an announcement over the tanoids requesting passengers travelling with children should board the plane, she gave me a nod and a smile as a goodbye before picking up her bags and the child and heading towards the check in desk. I watched and admired as she managed to carry 2 bags and a wriggling child and making it look like the easiest task she's encountered. Incredible.
Once she had gone through the gates I turned my attention back to my phone, but only briefly as before I knew it, George leapt on me from behind, chanting various things about his excitement for our holiday. That boy should definitely have a caffeine restriction!
"Where are the others?" I asked, laughing as I pushed George off me so he took a seat beside me.
"They're on their way, Jaymi wanted JJ's opinion on a straw hat or something but I thought you might be lonely." George replied, giggling.
Right on cue, the other boys sauntered round the corner, Jaymi wearing a flashy new straw hat. JJ handed me a Starbucks cup and smiled, I looked up at him confused.
