Chapter 4

"Last night was fun!" Lula grinned, stirring her coffee gently. We ha chosen a small cafe on the beachfront for breakfast, Lula knew the owners so everything was on the house. Free food, beautiful scenery and good company, today had started well!

"Yeah it was!" I smiled back, "it was nice to meet your sister too, her and George seemed to get on well!"

"Yeah sorry if she was a bit offish, she's just got out of a relationship, the guy was in a band and was travelling round the world so it was never really going to work out."

"Oh." I muttered.

"What?" She asked, her head cocked to one side.

"Nothing," I smiled, I decided now was not the right time to tell her I was in a band. "She seemed lovely."

We stayed in the café for a few hours and chatted about random things, mostly the countries we'd travelled to and the kinds of people we'd met. She was interesting, I found myself craving to know more and more about her but asking too many questions would just be creepy.

"I should get home," Lula spoke slowly, "I think I've left my parents with Amy for long enough!"

"Oh okay," I smiled, a little disappointed that she had to leave, "shall I walk you home?"

"No, your friends will be wondering where you are, I haven't got far to go anyway!" She giggled, blushing slightly.

"Oh, yeah I should get back to them," I stuttered, trying to sound casual.

"Goodbye Joshua." She waved.

"Will I see you again?" I spoke, my thoughts spilling out before my brain had time to stop them. Way to be smooth Josh. A smile spread across her face, her cheeks turning a rosy pink again.

"Yes." She said simply, before waving and walking away in the other direction.

When? Where? Was I supposed to call her? I didn't have her number! She didn't have my number! How was I going to see her again? I contemplated running after her but by the time I had plucked up the courage she had turned a corner and was out of sight. Too late.
