Adjectives - Los adjetivos
Definition
An adjective is used to describe a noun.
Formation
In Spanish adjectives must match up with the noun they describe in:
- Number (singular or plural)
- Gender (masculine or feminine)
1. Adjectives ending in 'o':
These change to 'a' in the feminine form and then add an 's' to make plural.
2. Adjectives ending in 'e':
These have no separate feminine form but add 's' to make plural.
3. Adjectives ending in a consonant:
These too have no separate feminine form but add an 'es' to make plural.
