If someone had told her the earth wasn't moving, she would have believed it.

If someone had told her that puchka was better than pani puri, she would have believed that too.

But...

If someone had told her that the rude, arrogant Jack Williams would collapse after hearing just three words, she would have laughed in their face.

And yet... here she was.

Standing in the middle of an empty road, drenched in rain, watching Jack lying motionless on the wet ground, while thunder rolled across the sky like a dramatic background score.

A sudden loud crack of thunder shook her out of her shock.

"JACK!"

Naina dropped to her knees beside him, slapping his cheeks.
"Jack... what happened?! Jack!" She shook him desperately, but his body didn't respond, not even a single twitch.

She looked around for help, but the road was deserted.
Not a single person.
Not a single car.
Nothing.

Mumbai, the city that never sleeps, was silent.
Dead silent.
It was terrifying.

Tears blurred her vision as reality sank in. She was completely alone... with an unconscious Jack.

Her trembling fingers hovered over his chest before she finally checked for his breath.
And to her horror
He wasn't breathing.

A cold fear wrapped around her heart like a fist.
The thought of losing him..him..shook her to the core.

"CPR... yes... CPR. It will help," she whispered to herself.

With trembling determination, she bent down, pressed her mouth to his, and gave him CPR.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.

"Jack... wake up! You can't do this to me! You can't leave me! You don't have the right to leave me... do you hear me?!" She cried, hitting his chest as tears streamed down her rain-soaked face.

Her cheeks were swollen, her breath uneven, her heart breaking.

Taking one deep, shaky breath, she leaned in to give him CPR one last time.
Her lips pressed to his...

And suddenly
She felt him move.

Before she could understand what was happening, she was pushed down against the road, and a pair of warm, desperate lips crashed onto hers.

It all happened so fast.

Jack had flipped her, pinning her beneath him, his body shielding her from the cold rain.

They lay in the middle of the deserted street as the rain poured over them, wind swirling around them.
The world was calm, silent, and peaceful.

But neither of them noticed.

Jack was completely lost in Amore's lips, kissing her like he had returned from the dead.
Naina, breathless and stunned, was still trying to understand how he had gone from lifeless... to this.

Jack cupped her face with one hand, the other gripping her waist as if he were afraid she would disappear.

Naina was still in shock, but her shock took another place when Jack put his hand inside her saree pallu and touched her bare waist. As his cold hand touched her waist, Naina suddenly forgot to breathe. Her body, without even realising, lifted from the road, and her chest touched his chest.
