The room was like any other room in the house, or mansion was more like it.

Isabelle had led Jonathon up the two staircases and down the corridor.

She stopped in front of a door and spun towards him, her hand on her hip. “Here’s your room. Mine is next to yours, but I doubt I’ll be there often now…” she trailed off and looked at him through her lashes.

Jonathon smiled, internally and externally. Wouldn’t hurt to add fuel to the fire. He stepped forward and leaned against the wall, smiling at Isabelle charmingly. “And why is that…” he said, his voice dropping to a near-whisper.

Isabelle giggled and leaned closer, her lips to his ear.

Someone cleared their throat.

Jonathon whirled round; no one could usually sneak up on him. Who the fuck?!

A boy his own age stood at the other end of the hallway, closing the door of the room he had just come out of. His blonde hair looking gold in the light. He stood and crossed his arms over his chest.

“I would appreciate if that would happen behind closed doors.” Jace said, looking at Jonathon with disgust.

Isabelle, noticing Jace’s look tried to introduce Jonathon. “Jace, this is-”

“Sebastian Verlac. I’m Aline’s cousin.” Jonathon smoothly interrupted Isabelle, nodding to the other boy.

“Mhmmm…” Jace said, obviously not listening.

“Listen, Isabelle, I’m going for a walk.” He sighed. “Be back soon.”

Jonathon looked at the Lightwood girl.

She looked upset for some reason. “Jace… don’t worry. She isn’t here.” Isabelle tried to reassure him.

Jace shook his head and walked down the stairs. “I’m not worried.”

Interesting…

Isabelle sighed. “Here, I will be right back.” She said, indicating two fingers; the international symbol for ‘two minutes’, then she darted after Jace, her feet making no sound at all.

This could prove to be rather entertaining.

Jonathon opened the door to his room and dumped his duffel bag next to the door.

“Long time no see, huh baby brother?” he said, his grin widening.
