The next day I woke up feeling better than ever, I don’t know why but today I just felt really refreshed I could go for a jog. I started the shower, stripped down my pajamas, and got in. The warm water felt so nice on my skin making me immediately think of Julie. I wonder if she could tell I had some sort of attraction to her…I also wonder when I should just come out of the closet and tell her. My plan was originally to tell her once I’m 18 graduating high school but I don’t know if I can wait that long.
Once I got out of the shower, I quickly dried off then got dressed in black high waisted shorts with gold buttons down the middle, a creamy tan chiffon shirt and made it loose like. I threw on a pair of shiny tannish gold gladiators, a necklace Julie bought me for my 15th birthday, and a few pink bangles. Ready to go I ran downstairs to eat breakfast. I still had about 45 minutes to go to school though so after breakfast I just went to school anyway. I parked my car in the usual spot and began to aimlessly walk around school.
As I walked towards my locker straight down the hall I heard my name being called, “Karen! Karen!” I turned around in confusion to see who it was.
“Oh thank god it really was you, I was afraid I was yelling your name to a complete stranger.”
“James, hey! Why are you here so early?” I asked wondering
“Ahh my bus comes this early so I really have nothing to do its pretty lonely haha.” He explained making me giggle
“Well how close to school do you live? Maybe I can pick you up and drop you off.” I offered
“Nahh wouldn’t that make me seem lame? I should be driving myself but I don’t have a car yet.” He said
“It wouldn’t make you lame it’s completely fine, now tell me.” I assured him
He explained to me where he lived and how to get here from his house and surprisingly he lived really close to here and my house so I guess I’ll be giving him a ride in the mornings then. We began to walk down the hallway making small talk.
“Soo…I was wondering maybe we can hang sometime.” James asked, I only stared waiting for him to go on, “Uh…you know since I’m new you could show me around and-“I cut him off there.
“Yeah I’d love to show you around! There’s a lot to see, maybe Friday after school we can go get something to eat and then I’ll show you around.” I offered, he seemed happy about the idea.
“Great sounds good! Can I have your number? You know so we can keep in touch.” He asked
“Yeah sure, you know you don’t always have to give an explanation I’m pretty friendly. “
We both laughed, James…he really is a cool guy.
*Julie’s POV*
I waited around the corner of the hallway. I wasn’t being a stalker or anything, but Karen was with that guy again. What was his name? Gerald or something. Seeing her with him just upsets me, I don’t know how to explain it but it’s not a good feeling. He’s stealing away my best friend…possibly the love of my life. I don’t want to ruin her love life though. So I guess its best to stay out of it.
“Can I have your number?”
“Yeah sure.”
Oh god she’s giving him her number?? Why Karen why?? It’s only been 2 days and they’re already getting closer and closer. I wanna interfere it’s rude I know but I’m just gonna casually walk up and be normal.
As soon as I turned the corner I bumped into someone.
“Uff…” I looked up, it was the guy Karen was talking to
